Just seen that the first "celebs" have arrived in Australia. Kieron Dyer and Jorgie Porter apparently. Isn't she the one who was on Celeb First Dates recently?

Series starts a week today!

Interesting we didn't get Lady C's opinion on doughnuts?!

Did anyone see if she actually ate one/part of one? Grin

Only1scoop · 21/11/2015 22:43

Sansoora · 21/11/2015 22:51

Am watching the bit about the soup. Oh dear god!

And its funny how her Jamaican accent becomes more apparent the more she rants.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 21/11/2015 22:51

I always hate it while it is a full camp. We need to lose half of them.

You wait until you hear Lady C's lies about her background Sansoora. She must think that we 'oiks' can read and look things up for ourselves.

Her pants are well and truly on fire in the next part of this episode.

Dowser · 21/11/2015 23:05

Liking Vicky. Never see her before.

Sansoora · 21/11/2015 23:36

Sadwidow - Ive just heard it Shock

Ive found a way to watch it live with the rest of you if Im up in the middle of the night for any reason and tonight I was - it was shown during the live show as a catch up. Is that right?

The fact she had to start off by saying she was descended from Charlemagne and William the Conqueror showed well and truly that she knows she's not quite pukka so to speak as indicated by Susanna.

sadwidow28 · 22/11/2015 00:56

And then when asked, "So you ARE married to a Lord? Lord Colin Campbell?", she said "Yes". She was only married to him for 9 months about 40 years ago. She should have answered that she WAS married to a Lord.

Oh yes, and when asked if it was her ambition to marry a Lord, Lady C said, "No it was my ambition to marry someone I loved and who loved me". Given that she met and married Lord Campbell within 5 days, I do wonder whether that question was absolutely spot on and that the whirlwind marriage was a stepping stone. She has never re-married (or reverted to her maiden name) so has never had to give up the title she managed to secure in 5 days.

She also said that 'Lord' is a title given to a Duke or a Marquess (inferring that her former husband held one/both of those titles). Colin Campbell was the 3rd child (2nd son) of the Duke of Argyll, therefore it was his older brother who became 12th Duke of Argyll/Marquess of Lorne. Lady C was simply married to a younger son of a Duke (albeit a cousin of the Queen).

Apparently the Daily Mail has tracked down Colin Campbell in Miami where he fled after his divorce from her (he no longer uses his 'Lord' title) and he is extremely scathing. He is said to refer to his ex as a ‘crashing snob’.

Sansoora · 22/11/2015 01:04

Sadwidow - spot on!!!

And I read the article this morning - blimey!

noclueses · 22/11/2015 01:12

'crashing snob' -well of course she is, patronising to the ridiculous degree, but as it's funny/slightly shocking to watch they wanted her on the show.

Sometimes though she is just bonkers, as Duncan keeps saying. I mean wtf with constantly mentioning how she had turned down (two, I think) extremely wealthy men, and that compared to them Duncan(!) is poverty-stricken ('you are a mouse', 'they are all silly tossers' - delightful!). Both hilarious and unhinged. What it has to do with the jungle leadership - she thinks whoever is richer/turned down a rich man, has more intelligence or moral judgement and the right to order all others around..eh?

It is also hilarious that she was married for less than a year, possibly the title is so important to her that THAT'S why she turned down proposals Grin! Or more realistically, she is so self centred and uncompromising that she could never live with a man unless he was a total doormat (then she wouldn;t find him attractive). Oh my. But being so un-PC, it's really entertaining.

BastardGoDarkly · 22/11/2015 08:36

I read that she left her husband after he beat her constantly :(

Also, he sold a story that she'd been born a boy, she had genital disfigurement, that meant she was christened a boy, but was found to be a girl with some disfigurement. She had surgery.

Sansoora · 22/11/2015 08:55

The abuse must have been awful if its true.

As is disclosing her story but I think there was enough written about her family for the medical experiences not to be a secret.

And after all of that she was still determined to hang on to her title?

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/11/2015 10:22

Really didn't like lady C tonight - esp over a tin of fucking soup - and wasn't even Heinz !!!! Grin

Total porkies about how she got her title /became a lady. Nothing to do with her family. Coz she married into it !!!

And yes amazes she is allowed to keep the rifle if divorced

Married for love after 5days Hmm

Thing is she looks manly - maybe that was due to the drugs of being mid sexed at birth?

sadwidow28 · 22/11/2015 10:25

Who knows whether he beat her or not. Dreadful if true. But that is what SHE said when the marriage didn't last. Oh yes, and that he was an alcoholic.

He says that HE was traumatised by her - her undisclosed childhood as a boy; her drug-taking; her behaviour within the aristocracy.

It was Lord Colin who ran off to New York when they split up and stopped using his title because she made it clear that she would continue to use hers after the divorce.

As for disclosing the stories of others - that is how Lady C has made her living. She became friendly with Diana, Princess of Wales and wrote a book about the affair with Hewitt and her bulimia (before Moreton wrote his book). It wasn't believed, but she felt vindicated when Moreton's 'authorised biography' was published, so she had her own book re-published. She also wrote a book about the Queen Mother (saying that she was actually the daughter of the French Maid). It caused a scandal and was banned for a time.

Her own life story is hers to tell - which she did in "A Life Worth Living". Interestingly there is no mention of the cousin who was buried alive (her reason for not going in the Panic Pit) and her two adoptive sons have told the media that they have never heard about it.

So, she is clearly a 'story-teller' and someone who breaches confidences herself.

Is it obvious that I really don't like the woman Blush

Sansoora · 22/11/2015 10:32

Thing is she looks manly

Thats part of the medical condition and its why people born with that condition can pass as either sex on appearance. Nowadays its called 'Intersex' but in the 'old days' it was referred to as being a Hermaphrodite.

Quite often of women who play for the likes of USA college basketball teams, or excel in traditional male dominated sports, are found to be Intersexed.

But you know what? Im feeling right out of my depth discussing this and will shut up now Smile

Sansoora · 22/11/2015 10:33

Is it obvious that I really don't like the woman blush

No, its not obvious. You're repeating whats out there in the public domain with most of it coming from her herself.

Sparklingbrook · 22/11/2015 10:43

i don't know what to think about her the more I read How did Diana feel about the book or was it after her death? Lady CC is only doing the show because her stately pile needs a new roof.

Only1scoop · 22/11/2015 10:44

I've gone right off her.

Sick of her harping on to be honest.

WotNoLoobrush · 22/11/2015 11:13

Well, this is an eye-opener. I think we'll have to put up with her for a while too.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 22/11/2015 11:40

Just been reading that Duncan faces court for hiding £10 million from his ex wife during divorce proceedings. Idiot.

OP posts:
Costacoffeeplease · 22/11/2015 12:13

Not surprised - he's a complete arse

EachandEveryone · 22/11/2015 12:17

Is that the same condition Jamie Lee Curtis was born with?

Who was the American Footballer she referred to at the start? She said something to the footballer in the jungle about him. Was he an ex? Her son? I didn't quite catch it.

ENtertainmentAppreciated · 22/11/2015 13:23

Duncan is indeed a complete arse.

Sorry Each I didn't hear the reference to an American Footballer and I didn't really follow all the fuss over the soup, did she want it for flavouring or adding to a dish? because one can of soup wouldn't do much shared out.

I'm not well up on titles, but I googled and her ex husband's title isn't even of the Peerage, it's a younger son courtesy title only. I know she'd lose the right to use it if she remarried, but what if he remarried? she'd have had to stop using it then surely? and if they'd had children together is it right to think they'd have been plain Mr or Miss?

I think we should award Lady C the title of Mistress of Obfuscation for her effort at explaining the providence and relevance of the 'Lady Colin'
Shame for her that Susannah's there and knows and understands what's what.

WotNoLoobrush · 22/11/2015 13:30

Really didn't like lady C tonight - esp over a tin of fucking soup - and wasn't even Heinz !!!! Grin

It wasn't Campbells either was it?

DorynownotFloundering · 22/11/2015 13:31

Duncan may be a completer arse normally but in this case I think he was extraordinarily self controlled in not lashing out at the rude old bat more than he did.
