Just seen that the first "celebs" have arrived in Australia. Kieron Dyer and Jorgie Porter apparently. Isn't she the one who was on Celeb First Dates recently?

Series starts a week today!

Also de-lurking to say I knew Tony would put all the men at the top and all the women at the bottom of the scale as soon as that challenge started. I saw that coming.

Lady C over-reacted but tbh, part of me was glad that Tony was made to feel bad. I don't believe for 1 second that Tony didn't think there'd be consequences of his (crap) decision - as if! He might come across as sexist but he's not stupid.

WotNoLoobrush · 17/11/2015 08:03

I agree ILove.

Also agree with someone upthread who said about not allowing the same person doing a trial 2 days in a row.

Inkanta · 17/11/2015 08:10

I hope the public don't keep voting for Lady C, but if they do it's good to know she is feisty enough to say I'm not doing it.

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/11/2015 08:30

That was me loobrush

Would also like to see the actual votes - same for xf - so we know how many more the winner gets

DeepBlueLake · 17/11/2015 08:35

Caught up on catch up this morning, Yvette has gone up in my estimation for getting stuck in and just getting on with it, unlike Lady C who had a sulk.

That said, I agree Tony was a dick putting all the females as the laziest. I didn't think Yvette deserved being the laziest tbh when she's been washing Susannah's knickers.

ENtertainmentAppreciated · 17/11/2015 09:29

I loved Chris's dancing and his comment that his bones just do it on their own Grin and Ant's impression. Chris has seemed to be much quieter and low key than I expected, so far anyway.

Also loved Lady C's response to Tony's defence 'you're 55 years old and you haven't realized that everything in life has consequences? do me a favour. What planet are you on?' She's not wrong. I suspect she lost her cool because she thought their choices were very unfair but also because she was probably over tired and hungry.

I'm in the camp that thinks it was wrong putting all the women at the lazy end of the scale. Obviously we don't see everything that goes on all day, but work and effort aren't always someone constantly pottering around. Earning 10 stars for camp by doing that vile eating trial was a big effort, well it was in my book. I also thought Lady C's attitude and encouragement really supported Jorgie and helped get her through it. Washing, general cleaning and knowing how to cook is a big contribution too because it's no good winning food if it then gets ruined in the preparation.

I'll give Lady C a bit of a break for the Oik comment. I didn't take it to refer to anyone and everyone who's not in her social circle. I could see her referring to an obnoxious hurray Henry type as an oik too. I took it as meaning the kind of person who'd take pleasure in constantly voting for someone to do the repulsive trials in the hope of seeing them suffer. Fair play, she will do trials if they're at all in her capabilities, even if they're not pleasant, but she's definitely going to draw the line if she feels she needs to.

Inkanta · 17/11/2015 11:14

Yes, Tony Hadley has come across a bit sexist, and patronising to women rather than chivalrous. Yvette doesn't strike me as 2nd least lazy person. If anything she seems overly eager to please and muck in. I was surprised she offered to wash peoples' pants!

ThatsNotMyRabbit · 17/11/2015 12:13

Well I loathe Yvette for Most Haunted.

I think she's well aware of how the show works which is why she's making such a big show of being pleasant and helpful. Who offers to wash other people's pants FGS?

And all the time she was being ostentatiously calm and patient with Lady C, you could practically hear her thoughts - "This'll improve my popularity! Must show how well I handle difficult people!"

Reminded me a bit of the Mitchell and Webb sketch where RW plays a guy who prides himself on being Good With People.

noclueses · 17/11/2015 14:11

ENt, I can bet anything that she didn't mean also the hooray henrys, she'd phrase it differently! I used to live in her area (chelsea, natch) and the older upper class types always used 'oiks' for 'uneducated lower classes'. She is a snob, of course she is - there was a documentary where they all laugfh their heads off at her dinner party at an anecdote about some poor footman making a mistake. She is entertaining to listen and to watch exactly because she is so un-PC. That doesn't mean she can't be kind to people she is ok with but she is ALWYS going to be patronising (and has been so far, inck to Jorgie). One of the points of the show is to get the nix of people who don't normally mix - and strong personalities, it just works to create clashes for fun.
Hooray Henry Spence is coming (God, just why?) and I envisage him and lady C being friends - she will still be patronising as she is older and more intelligent than him, but it will be in form of a friendly guidance probably.

HedgehogsDontBite · 17/11/2015 14:12

Can I join in?

I love Lady C. For some reason I wanted to hate her but now I want her to win. Even the oiks comment was hilarious.

noclueses · 17/11/2015 14:13

sorry for many typos!

PurpleGreenAvocado · 17/11/2015 14:31

Lady C is preferable to Tony H IMO, I never liked him when he was in SB as he always came across as being a sexist prat who fancied himself as a ladies man plus he isn't John Taylor. I haven't seen anything on Celeb to change that view.
YF is great, though I never saw her on the haunted programme so that's just based on BP.

PurpleGreenAvocado · 17/11/2015 14:31

I'd like Steve Backshall to go on Celeb.

ThatsNotMyRabbit · 17/11/2015 14:45

Bear Grylls would be fab too.
He'd probably be rejecting the food rations, in favour of a few raw mice and a snakeskin filled with his own wee.

WotNoLoobrush · 17/11/2015 14:49

It doesn't look like it's on tonight because of bloody footballSad

WotNoLoobrush · 17/11/2015 14:53

ThatsNot Grin

PurpleGreenAvocado · 17/11/2015 15:07

Rabbit Bear Grylls and Steve Backshall at the same time could be interesting not to mention being an, errm, attractive proposition

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/11/2015 15:18

Bloody football. Can't they put it on itv2

Dumbledoresgirl · 17/11/2015 15:23

It usually takes me a while to get into each new set of celebs, but I have to say, this year, I am right in there with all of them, even though I scarcely have a clue who any of them are. I actually don't dislike anyone yet either. I thought Lady C would irritate me, but by god that rant last night was a beauty to behold! I can't wait for tomorrow.

WotNoLoobrush · 17/11/2015 15:34

I know what you mean Dumbledore about getting used to them quickly this time. I don't know most of them either.

Blondes - it would be good if itv had a sports channel.

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/11/2015 15:43

Or they didn't play football for 3 weeks Grin

chickensaresafehere · 17/11/2015 15:48

Why do I sense a sinister side to Tony Hadley?
Is it just me ? Confused

ILikeToClean · 17/11/2015 15:54

Caught up today as I work evenings. Lady C is hilarious, totally out of order refusing to do the task but great telly! How about eating all the bush tucker with her knife and fork?!

Nobody else is irritating me too much yet, George, Brian and Kieron seem quite sweet. Chris E 's dancing -wtf?!

I have no idea who the 3 new ones are - think it's too early to bring them in - and I have the feeling they're going to be annoying!!

PurpleGreenAvocado · 17/11/2015 15:55

chicken no, it's not just you. I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him.

areyoubeingserviced · 17/11/2015 16:03

Agree chicken - I think that there is a sinister side to Tony Hadley and that we will see it pretty soon.
I think he is a sexist prick.
I think that it is a great lineup
Lady C , Jorgie ,Susannah and Chris Eubanks are my favourites.
Chris Eubanks appears to be a very sweet man
