Awful.

Heartbreaking for his lovely mum.

BlueBananas · 22/10/2015 21:40

I'm watching, can't decide how I feel about it really

SpendSpendSpend · 22/10/2015 21:41

I feel so sorry for the woman.

To be married at 14 is well unthinkable!

NotEnoughTime · 22/10/2015 21:42

I'm watching it too.

I feel so sorry for his Mum-she must be heartbroken and his brother too Sad

Rivercam · 22/10/2015 21:42

I usually avoid any programmes about terrorists etc (depressing), but this is heart wrenching. They seem like an ordernary family, so how did Tom get caught up in it ( missed the first bit). I think the programme is as much about the mother's heartbreak, as the son.

I have a teens, only a few years younger then When Tom converted. It's scary to watch in that respect.

IHaveBrilloHair · 22/10/2015 21:42

Really, really sad.

BlueBananas · 22/10/2015 21:43

Oh god imagine seeing that picture of your child Sad!

IgnoreMeEveryOtherReindeerDoes · 22/10/2015 21:45

Am watching it too. So sad for the mum just what could she of done

ImperialBlether · 22/10/2015 21:46

I was so shocked he'd died. I didn't know that's what had happened. The poor mother and those people banging on her door all the time - terrible.

what a remarkable women

TheSpottedZebra · 22/10/2015 21:58

I'm watching -it's gut - wrenching.

I missed the start - who is the black guy and from what agency is he?

ImperialBlether · 22/10/2015 21:58

Oh god, finding out those things he'd done. Terrible.

OP posts:
Ubik1 · 22/10/2015 21:59

She is remarkable.

BlueBananas · 22/10/2015 22:01

Goodness me that was hard to watch

Rivercam · 22/10/2015 22:04

The black guy is from an organisation who try to de-radicalise affected people. His group were guiding the mum on what to say to Tom.

SurlyCue · 22/10/2015 22:04

I watched it. How calm that woman remained. Even in the immediate period after his death, with press banging on her door! I would have been a wreck. That poor family. It was heartbreaking to watch. And sickening to hear about and see the murders.

TabithaTwitchEye · 22/10/2015 22:05

I felt little sympathy, particularly when I heard he's married a child. Then I saw the picture of him dead.

My heart broke for his mum. He'll always be her baby. It could be any of us.

TheSpottedZebra · 22/10/2015 22:05

Oh thanks, River. So he's not government? He seems like he could do with more funding and assistance.

bellabelly · 22/10/2015 22:10

So, so sad. When she read the eye witness reports of what he'd done, I just sobbed. Poor woman.

Eggwhisk · 22/10/2015 22:25

Absolutely heartbreaking to watch, his mum and brother seemed so lovely. I kind of remember hearing that he'd died but when they showed the picture of his body and you could immediately tell it was him, I was shocked. What a brave lady she is

megletthesecond · 22/10/2015 22:39

I'm watching it now. That poor family.

FeedMyFaceWithJaffaCakes · 22/10/2015 22:45

"I didn't imagine to feel so empty, so lost, so overwhelming sad."

SadSadSadSad

Poor poor lady.
Stupid stupid boy.

mellowheart · 22/10/2015 22:50

He was beyond stupid. If there is such a thing as evil then that was what he was.

SurlyCue · 23/10/2015 09:34

I wonder if he actually did convert to Islam in the true sense, that he believed. I know i tried all sorts of fads as a teen a) to get a reaction from my parents, i wanted to shock/annoy them and b) i thought it's get me some friends as i didnt have many. I know boys can tend to mature later and also this guy suffered a huge abandonment at a crucial time in his life so perhaps he was just so desperate to fill thatt gap and be somewhere that he wasnt rejected.
