That must be a record - a 10 in week 3!!

icemistOBE · 10/10/2015 20:20

Think Carol or Anthony might go this week.

I know rhu. I loved Jill Halfpenny's jive too!

Random fact. Jill's sister was my driving instructor when I was learning to drive.

KellyHb · 10/10/2015 20:27

I'll be missing the results show tomorrow. Tomorrow's a busy day for me. But will def make the watch a long.

By the way Kuias FF about CJ and Molly leaving the FOB is a great chapter.
I've always wanted to know what the other was thinking when they were looking at each other before going in the truck. I thought at least CJ could've smiled at her for buying the coffee. Confused

Rhubarb01 · 10/10/2015 20:29

It's a small world Kelly but she's from your part of the world isn't she.

I reckon it's between Jamelia, Carol & Anthony but still think Carol's got a lot of followers and will stay even though she probably was the weakest tonight. I must be in a minority but I quite like Jamelia - I've never seen her on anything else though, so don't know what she's like on Loose Women. Would like her to stay for other obvious reasons but PLEASE give Tristan some decent clothes he looked a bit like Fred from Scooby Doo in that get-up - not good!

Rhubarb01 · 10/10/2015 20:38

Yes, agree Kelly I liked Kuias chapter as well. Just reminds us once again of the scenes that were missing. I would love TG to fill us in a bit on that and what he envisaged happening after the hospital scene - beyond the obvious zombie image that fills most of our minds now whenever we see it. I'm never quite sure at the start of episode 4 how much time has passed and always wonder if they've just been having little flirty conversations whenever they get a chance for a few weeks and that's it. I haven't thought about this for a while but the watch along has made me consider these points again.

KellyHb · 10/10/2015 20:48

Yes rhu Jill and her family's from Newcastle.

Do you think rhu CJ looked at her apologising for being jealous rather not being able to say it?

Alwaysfrank · 10/10/2015 20:52

Loved strictly tonight. I thought Jay was a wet fish at the beginning but I think he is painfully shy and lacking in self-belief. Did anyone see him during the week when they were comparing him alongside the previous boy band contenders and he said something along the lines of "the other three look great together and i look like someone who's come to get their autographs". Hopefully he will start to believe in himself!

Btw there is a lovely 5 minute video on iplayer of Natalie and the lovely Tristan teaching "the Strictly" - worth watching for an extra does of Tristan if you've not seen it yet.

I always loved Jill's jive too, and Rachel's rumba. I think they should bring out a DVD of all the best ones from over the years.

To answer your question from last night Kelly, no Royal Crescent visit yesterday. Next time!

Rhubarb01 · 10/10/2015 21:16

Kelly I've always thought that there is a definite softening of his attitude as they leave the FOB. I suppose he can't say anything and realises he's been a bit of an idiot. He's probably wondering when he'll get a moment to speak in private. When he answers her question on the drive back he definitely seems friendlier and more contrite. Actually I'm still surprised he doesn't say "shut up Dawsey" when she's bending his ear as he's trying to mine sweep the road and having a kind of "Of all the possible moments to have this conversation she chooses this one." I suppose we'll never know and it's just up to us to think whatever we want.

Always I have to agree that Jay is really turning out to be the surprise package. On the introductory show he looked like he'd be leaving the first week even from the way he walked. Now it looks like he'll do really well. The public might not know him very well but they usually appreciate a really good dancer. He does seem shy and reserved and looks a bit serious but he'll come out of himself. Perhaps this will be the making of him.

Rhubarb01 · 10/10/2015 21:19

Just seen a trailer for The Returned on More 4 and it uses the music from Molly's arrival at the FOB. I don't know what it's called. Sorry, don't really listen to the soundtrack or know who the artists are - you'll know the song.

Onlygirljen · 10/10/2015 21:52

Sorry to lower the tone as always but Just seen the new Morrisons' range of rugby themed pizzas on Facebook.

Hmmmmm

Erm ... That does not look like a rugby ball...

Onlygirljen · 10/10/2015 22:05

Yep, brings whole new meaning to the term 'meat feast' maddie.. Grin

Rhubarb01 · 10/10/2015 22:09

What on earth were they thinking? Aside from anything else it may resemble what on earth would induce you to eat that? Please don't answer that question.

Just been watching At Home with Steph and Dom and feel so sorry for Jason Donovan he looked totally bemused as if he had dropped in on another planet.

MaddieMoo82 · 10/10/2015 22:19

It makes me cross my legs when I look at it jen. I bet plenty of blokes buy it....

pixieg1rl · 10/10/2015 22:20

Ha Jen!

Reminds me of this picture I saw on Twitter, apparently the class were asked to paint a candle flame. Umm....

Watched Strictly with the rest of you but only had my phone to hand and I find it tortuous typing on it. Gleb made my hot flushes hotter than usual and although Jay does nothing for me, his dance was amazing. How can one man look so gorgeous? Definitely a close second to CJ.

My neighbour and I put our annual bet on the dancers last week: Peter Andre, Helen George, Anita Rani and Katie Dereham. We share any proceeds (usually a meal out after Christmas) as we have been quite successful on a few previous occasions. We debated last Sunday morning who the fourth one should be and we went for Helen George but it was a choice between her and Jay. My neighbour rang across as Jay's dance finished. I knew it would be her and I've told her to go and put an extra fiver on him tomorrow morning as I am out all day.

Should be back for the watchalong though. Cannot believe that it was after this episode a year ago that I started scouring the internet for anything and everything I could find on OG. I don't even think at that stage I realised how obsessed with CJ I was. I think that only dawned on me after the last episode and I arrived home from work each night after that and watched the scenes in CJ's quarters and the restaurant scenes time after time after time!

KellyHb · 11/10/2015 00:59

Eugh.. That Pizza may give me nightmares, Jen. Yip Maddiebet plenty of blokes will buy that. I surprises me the person that made it didn't realise it looks like something else Shock

Thanks for your thoughts rhu. Its funny when you're reading the FF and it brings certain scenes back to mind. Smile

Off to bed. Had really bad earache after Strictly but it seems to be subsiding now.

kuiakaituhi · 11/10/2015 01:46

Thanks for comments about my story. I find that scene probably the most poignant in the series. I'm working on the next bit. Have been on holiday for two weeks, back to the workhouse in the morning so it will be next weekend before I get it finished.

I had an interesting "moment" last night. Was sorting through old photos and there he was, my first serious boyfriend from when I was 17. He was 24 and at graduate school , I was in my last year at high school. Two different worlds, he was from a wealthy, land-holding family, mine was poor and at that time I was beginning a campaign to go to University which my father thought the biggest waste of time ever. There was probably too big an age gap at that stage of my life but there was instant chemistry between us and we were together for a year.

Anyhow, Alex was tall with curly dark hair, brown eyes, handsome, bit of a doppelganger, really. Reminded me of the Prince Harry lines in OG. It did not end well for me. I thought my heart was broken for ever!! After all these years, I remembered instantly my teenage self nursing my shattered heart. Perhaps CJ presses some old buttons? Who knows?

KellyHb · 11/10/2015 09:01

Morning all.

Busy day for me today. Taking DD to see Disney On Ice this morning with DD's friend from school and their Mam We're both excited but I had really bad earache last night and potentially a loud concert with hundreds of screaming kids may make it worse so I'll take plenty of painkillers with me!

Wow kuia by the sounds of your first boyfriend, you could write your own CJ story. Smile

MIL is up today too so a busy all round. Should be ready and sorted for 9.
Have a nice day everyone.

kuiakaituhi · 11/10/2015 10:08

Nah!! Got over it eventually, learned to toughen up "..hard as nails,me." Tried out lots of new models. Went to uni, heaps of men there.
I ran into him a few years back. Bald and bloated, probably a lucky escape.

Rhubarb01 · 11/10/2015 10:37

Morning all. I have a similar story to yours Kuia and thanks to some idle googling one day - the internet is a brilliant tool - discovered the object of my younger distant yearnings now lives 'down under' and going by the photo on his company website I would certainly pass him by in the street without another glance. Savour the memories better to have loved and lost etc but you're right that the reality is something quite different.

Rhubarb01 · 11/10/2015 10:43

I guess I should have added to be totally fair to my former beau that were he to see me he'd probably say a big ditto to all my comments in respect of me. The ravages of time eh!
