Anyone watching Beck. I love it have been googling and lots of series going back to the 90s., I need to step away from Amazon as I am tempted to order the DVD box set! Gunvald is my favourite.

Been watching too, I love a good Swedish detective show.

I know the original was created by a husband and wife team and as detective heroes go, Beck is a decent chap but can't help wondering why the whole thing wasn't called Gunvald, a much more intriguing character!

Gunvald is head-spinningly attractive!

Show is good too...

I really liked the radio version with Steven Mackintosh and Neil Pearson so I had high hopes for this - and although different I am enjoying it.

Mikael Persbrandt is quite astonishingly handsome. Every time he looks at the camera I practically catch my breath.

Gunvald is brilliant in it. I read all the books many, many years ago. Think Beck himself is more intriguing in the books.
They are by Maj Sjowall and Per Wahloo (sp?) if anyone wants a good read.

I'm enjoying it too. I read a couple of the books a long time ago, and I've also heard some of the radio plays, which I liked, though found the radio narrator a bit ponderous. But this series is great.

I've read 7 or 8 of the books (10 in total) & I'm delaying reading the final ones because they are brilliant. The first one Roseanne was the least interesting one for me, but the social commentary about Sweden from the late 1960's through to the 70s is excellent. For this reason I have not bothered to watch the Beck TV show as I feel that it is all wrong to update it to'now'.
