Someone come and hold my hand.

I'm on my own in the worlds most deserted caravan site in a forest. there isn't another caravan in sight. Why did I decide to watch this?

Ive got to take the dog out for a wee in a bit.

It's dark and stormy outside. Pitch black, with funny noises!

I've had to turn over and miss the last minutes. She was walking up the stairs and the music was getting spooky.

Have just watched this on catch up. I thought it was great, but dh watched it with a cup in front of one eye and the other eye closed.

Am looking forward to the next one. The ending was actually less frightening than I expected.

WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 24/09/2015 22:56

I am kind of kicking myself for missing the last minute. I'm such a wuss! But I was scared again this evening taking the dog out for a wee in the dark! Still on the spooky caravan site in the forest on my own.

In those circumstances I'm not sure I'd have watched it at all - I actually deferred watching it on Wednesday as dh was out and I was on my own, even though I'm in a village surrounded by next door high ours, etc.

Having said that, the ending might have made you feel less scared, as it was, in a way, quite anticlimactic I thought. Well, significant for the storyline, but not that scary.

Oh it's brilliant

Wdigin2this · 30/09/2015 21:51

It's good, but is it just me that finds it hard to understand what Merilee is saying?

WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 30/09/2015 22:09

Bugger forgot this was on.

Will have to watch ep 2 on catch up.

I'm still really enjoying it. Somehow it isn't quite as frightening as one feels it should be. (I'll be sleeping with the light on, mind).
A shame there are only 3 episodes - I'd like a massive series of it. Is it based on a book, does anyone know?

CalonDu · 30/09/2015 22:59

Yes, it's based on a book called Midwinter of the Spirit by Phil Rickman - definitely worth reading, as it's about 500 pages long and is much, much creepier than this, mainly because the tv adaptation has compressed a few storylines to get everything into three episodes.

Lovelydiscusfish · 01/10/2015 21:09

Thanks CalonDu - have googled the books, and am definitely adding them to my Christmas list!

Am hoping this series might presage a longer one, based on the other books. The acting, the script, all of it really, seem very good to me - one of the better things I've seen on telly for quite some time!

No one I know seems to be watching it - am wondering why it's not more popular.

JasperDamerel · 01/10/2015 21:13

I'm a big fan of the books, and am Hoping that they will make a longer series.

bigbadbarry · 01/10/2015 21:17

Read the books! They are fab.

colleysmill · 10/10/2015 22:17

Ooooh just started watching this on my recorded shows - it's a bit spookier than I expected
