Series 4 of First Dates starts Thursday 10 September at 10pm, Ch 4.

Who's in?

She's just getting into talking about sex, but he's better than that. He shouldn't get involved with her at all.

ENtertainmentAppreciated · 19/11/2015 22:56

They've both been really stitched up and how embarrassing for them.

I suppose Richard, the assexual guy is dating as an academic exercise, or maybe he just needs a friend?

I would like the yoga guru's man to turn her down after she's said she'd like to see him again.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 19/11/2015 23:00

Oh me too Imperial

AnneEyhtMeyer · 19/11/2015 23:03

Oh dear - next week. I don't think it is at all fair to set someone up with a transexual as a blind date. Not fair to either of them.

ENtertainmentAppreciated · 19/11/2015 23:03

Mark sees Abi as a challenge?
He shouldn't bother, she'll only mess him about.

I would love to work on that programme. I'd do a hell of a better job than whoever is taking those contestants on.

I understand why an asexual person would want a partner and go on dates...people don't have to spend their lives alone just because they're not sexually attracted to anyone. There's still romance, companionship, etc. But I don't think an asexual person would necessarily meet the needs of a heterosexual person who does have sexual desires, so think it wasn't entirely fair on the woman. Especially when it's such a young woman who may not have found the balance yet between being open minded and making sure her own needs are satisfied (I hope that makes sense). If I were in her position I'd recognise immediately that I need a partner to find me sexually attractive and therefore me and an asexual person would be simply incompatible.

As far as Abi was concerned, her behaviour was horrendous and I can't quite believe that Mark managed to confront it in such a productive way and turn the date around. Good on him but after the third or fourth comment I would have torn a strip off her.

Can't quite decide where I stand on them setting the woman up next week with a f-m transsexual. On the face of it, I don't think it's the restaurant's place to warn her or anything...It's not like sexuality where it would necessarily make them incompatible. And nothing is being forced upon her...She gets to decide how she feels about that while getting more context about the person themselves.

The difference for me is between meeting someone out socially rather than having some kind of matchmaker middleman involved. Presumably they all have to fill out questionnaires and someone's described themself as very open minded etc. but it strikes me as an awkward thing to be filmed reacting to.

Then again I found last night's 'dirty sex' questions a bit uncomfortable as they had no context beforehand. The guy who likes to cross dress too, that was a bit out there for the girl to deal with at the time and the woman who was stood up and then moved at the bar to watch another date in progress.

When you think about it, the programme has form for putting people on the spot.

That Abi woman was dreadful. It almost seemed like she was behaving like that to appear edgy and more interesting then she actually is. Was weird how she suddenly changed tactic and it didn't come across as genuine at all. I agree with the person who said yoga doesn't seem to be working for her given her vile attitude.

Only1scoop · 21/11/2015 00:01

Is Abi the dirty sex question asker?
What a nausebox

Run away

ENtertainmentAppreciated · 21/11/2015 13:42

Yes Scoop.
I made a note of all their names, only because we chat here and I hate saying this one or that one.
It was
Amelia and Josh, Shirley and Dave, Scott and Natasha, Abi and Mark and lastly Richard and Freya.

Disagree with this first couple being set up. Not fair to either.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 26/11/2015 22:10

ENtertainmentAppreciated · 26/11/2015 22:18

This woman is a bit intense. He needs to run for the hills.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 26/11/2015 22:48

This woman is demonstrably not clever.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 26/11/2015 22:50

She is just not listening to him. Not interested in anyone other than herself.

theredlion · 26/11/2015 22:52

I'm really clever but she took applied science because the teacher was really fit Hmm

Tiggeryoubastard · 26/11/2015 22:53

AnneEyhtMeyer · 26/11/2015 22:58

The desperate woman isn't ever going to find someone if she behaves like this on every date.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 26/11/2015 23:00

The chicken falling off the fork was so funny!

AnneEyhtMeyer · 26/11/2015 23:01

AnneEyhtMeyer · 26/11/2015 23:04
