Ok so he did a clever gimmicky thing but it was style over substance. He was judged "not in a fast food way, not in a masterchef way...." but the others were judged in a Masterchef way.

He didnt show much in the way of technical ability to put together a burger with chips and a drink.

They kept him in because he is good telly, at the expense of others who were far better than him.

Oh and I dont belive for one second that he just happened to pop out and get a set of branded fast food containers, or that it was his idea in the first place.

I wanted Sam to win, but knew Kimberley would! Tbf to her, she deserved to, she really showed her ability to learn and adapt in the pro kitchens. Rylan was still getting on my tits at the very end! I wonder who he will blame for not winning if cleanmachine is right in what she posted above (and I believe her!).

I've come to this thread late but OP you state "it was style over substance. He was judged "not in a fast food way, not in a masterchef way...." but the others were judged in a Masterchef way"

Very little of the vegetarian food on this series was Masterchef in any shape or form. I cant cook but I can make a pasta bake or lasagne and a pretty decent one at that. At least Rylan bought style, innovation and fun to the contest - he clearly has design ability. I really like his passion for life. I just hope next series that the vegetarian food is judged to the same high standards as the rest of it.

spring he had cooking lessons prior to each episode, who taught him has design ability, he can just learn fast and do as he is told!

But I agree that the vege food is generally much lower in quality and innovation than the meat dishes.

I bet they all had classes before hand. That model Jodie Kidd said she did.
