I just came on here because I KNEW there would be a thread about the names! Rawle I suppose is an ok sort of name, very unusual but at least sounds like a name. But Beetroot...really? Someone would name their child after a vegetable?

I exclaimed over that too - BEETROOT!

Interesting choices! Made me think that if I had to choose a noun to nand my child I wonder what I'd choose??? I like "window sill" & "bulldozer" just because I like the way they make my mouth move!!

After hearing Beetroot I've added Parsnip to the list for DC3 - Parsnip is more masculine than Beetroot yes?

Agree spider light. Could have been Raul I suppose. I doubt they will be using those names as international journalists or whatever. The house owner's story was rather sad

I know an adult Raul, with that spelling. It's a real name in the caribbean, not sure about Rawle though.

Maybe Beetroot screams a lot and gets red in the face? As in the saying 'red as a beetroot'. Or blushes a lot. please say it is only a nickname

I think Fuzzpig has it. The parents must have said "we haven't decided on a name, we'll just see what she looks like when she's born".

I assumed Beetroot was a nickname for something like Beatrice....did it say Beetroot in the credits? Was it actually her name?

I saw about ten minutes of this, and as soon as I heard the children's names I wondered what Mumsnet would make of them.
