"To Russia where I modelled". I feel I've seen this trailer 65000000 times and I don't think I watch that much telly.

Absolutely! In fact I'd go further and say I'm sick of Joanna Lumley. She's one of those people that makes you wonder how they keep getting these plum jobs

firefly78 · 11/07/2015 22:37

yup. who gives a shit?

mrsdavidbowie · 11/07/2015 22:39

Yes! I'm glad you posted.
Her breathy husky voice gets up my nose

Housewife2010 · 11/07/2015 22:39

It's great to know I'm not alone!

Yep. Have no interest what she gets up to on her travels. Just hoping she doesn't make her bra into a shoe again. She is fairly annoying, upgraded to v annoying when she has a documentary out.

Pugthug · 11/07/2015 22:45

And I haven't seen the trailer yet! Grin

springlamb · 11/07/2015 22:46

Fed up of her prancing around in the snow looking all svelte and glamour out and glowing.
Whereas I always look like an overweight womble in the snow.

Sparklingbrook · 11/07/2015 22:46

It's a really awful trailer. All vair serious and very irritating.

FuckyNell · 11/07/2015 22:55

Reminds me of this Grin

SymphonyofShadows · 11/07/2015 23:14

Yep, it's like she is becoming a caricature of herself.

PunkrockerGirl · 11/07/2015 23:16

Yes it's awful. I used to quite like her but now she's just irritating and up herself.

Housewife2010 · 12/07/2015 07:51

Nell (don't make me swear so early on the Sabbath!) Love that postcard!

I thought it was just me who can't stand Joanna Lumley. I can't listen to her voice - to me it's as bad as running finger nails down a chalk board, makes me shudder. I'm sure she's a lovely person, and I feel bad for disliking her but I'm sure she won't be losing sleep over it :o

And no I won't be watching her Trans-Siberian Adventure. It's bad enough that it's promoted all over the front page of this week's Radio Times.

NotCitrus · 12/07/2015 10:13

I was really looking forward to the Northen Lights show she did a while back, and it wasn't so much her being annoying as the fatuous guff she was coming out with. We turned the sound off, which helped.

I fear this series may be similar. Shame as Michael Portillo and Michael Palin are getting overused and do get repetitive eventually (even if betting on the colour of Portillo's next lurid jacket and shirt is fun)

Raffles I agree re Sheridan Smith. Yes, she's a good actress but there seem to be constant trailers for her work. Current one seems to be on almost as much as "Russia where I modelled" one. The sooner we sort out our Freeview arial and I can go back to recording Coronation Street and avoiding all the adverts on the telly and iplayer the better!

FruChristerOla · 12/07/2015 19:11

Oh yes, NotCitrus. That Northern Lights show would have been absolutely brilliant without JL breathing all over the place! I don't think I can bring myself to watch her in Russia. But turning the sound down is a fantastic idea!

Love Portillo in his various coloured shirts, jackets and trousers! Similarly Palin on his travels. Their programmes are truly fascinating.

Best if JL sticks to being Patsy Wine Grin

Varya · 12/07/2015 19:14

Sorry, I do not like Joanna Lumley. Won't be watching any show with JL in it.

patterkiller · 12/07/2015 19:20

Yes she reminds me of my dm when she's 'try hard' gah!

NotCitrus · 12/07/2015 21:38

Trying to watch it. Sadly can't get it to record to fast forward the annoying bits or the ads.
She's actually quite good but the voiceover is direly patronising and tedious.

IrenetheQuaint · 12/07/2015 21:44

I'm watching it as I've always dreamt of doing the Trans-Siberian, but so far it's been lots of JL guff and hardly any train action Angry

Geoff0409 · 13/07/2015 15:47

I like her and have to say when she's on I find listening to her absolutely fascinating. She was on The Last Leg on Friday and she was great.

DinosaurFarmer · 15/07/2015 09:36

Oh yes, I hate it too - all that striking a pose in a fur hat and breathy voice over. Safe to say that if the trailer annoys me that much I won't be watching the full programme! Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 15/07/2015 17:18

Oh , JL "I'm a vegetarian" in a fur hat.Hmm

There are many many synthetic fabrics that will kee you warm. You don't need a fur hat or even a faux fur hat if truth beknown

FadedRed · 15/07/2015 17:30

I'm just fed up with ALL the programme trailers on the BBC channels. One of the best things about the BBC is the lack of advertising, but over the past few years, the trailers have become as irritating as the adverts on commercial channels. OK to have a new series promoted for a day or two before it starts, but the same programmes, several times a night, for two or three weeks is increasingly tedious.
