The father is a complete and utter arse, and a fabulous example of wanting to be different just so he is can be seen to be interesting. Personally I think there's more character in a log.

Lovely children though.

I'm enjoying this series - though I find it interesting how the people so far in the series have all been pretty much upper-middle class and loaded. It seems to take quite a bit of money to leave the rat race and live off grid - the irony of it.

The family from the first week in the Pacific, they were sending their eldest child to boarding school!
