Like Australia a lot, has it been on the radio quite a bit? Surely if they are special guests I.e. only in this 60th year, you shouldn't be able to vote for them? Confused.

The Eurovision woman on radio 4's media show waffled about Australians really loving Eurovision and bringing the world together not just Europe. I guess they figured that when you let Israel, Libya and Azerbaijan in, you can't really refuse anyone.

If Australia win, they're not allowed to host it. A European country has to. Apparently. (Yet Israel and Azerbaijan were allowed to host it).

You can be in Eurovision if you are a member of the European Broadcasting Union (Australia are an associate member).

I lived there until recently, they LOVE it, show it live, I was the edit getting up at dawn last year to watch. They don't get the politics though so they think it's a wacky show with no reason for the winners. Aussies take every competition seriously
