Me but I've just turned it on

I was planning to record it but DH is gaming so thought why not!

ladymalfoy · 03/05/2015 21:11

I remember reading about it in Worlds Greatest Ghost Stories.
I've jumped once so far.

Definitely creepy. I just jumped

Panicmode1 · 03/05/2015 21:33

I'm watching from behind the sofa - DH refused to watch with me!

curlyclaz13 · 03/05/2015 21:35

Watching, read about it years ago in a book my dad bought for me when I was way too young scared the shut out of me wish I knew where it was now.
Nice haircuts Grin

ChickyEgg · 03/05/2015 22:00

I watched. Not sure if I liked it or not. Playfair was a bit of a twat!

southeastastra · 03/05/2015 22:01

hoax

Clawdy · 03/05/2015 23:26

Acknowledged by most people to be a hoax now. Surprised Tim Spall wanted to be in this.

FujimotosElixir · 03/05/2015 23:29

wasn't it never proved either way?

ladymalfoy · 04/05/2015 09:49

Yeah. Rumour has it they asked the girls to retract their statement about it being a hoax.
Like Amitiville. Wasn't that all because they couldn't pay the mortgage?

I watched the entire series at once thanks to sky on demand. It was quite good. Certainly pleased I watched it.

2boys2girls · 04/05/2015 19:37

Mortgage? Council tenant I think, don't think its been proven either way

Hushabyelullaby · 04/05/2015 19:40

I am going to watch it tonight as I didn't get a chance to last night. I used to live on the same street about 60 houses along when I was a kid. My babysitter at the time thought it would be fun to show an 8 year old me the book (complete with photos of the girls being thrown from their beds). Blimey I had nightmares for ages. Am looking forward to watching it.

bruffin · 04/05/2015 19:43

Theres another thread. I went to school round the corner at the same time and never heard anything at the time. Older girls would have been same age as my sister.

bruffin · 04/05/2015 20:07

the other thread

MargotLovedTom · 04/05/2015 23:16

Just watched it. Bloody hell - that scene when the hand clamped on her mouth: I've never shrieked like it in my life. Full blown "OOAAAAGH!!!". Dh nearly dropped his forkful of curry in fright and the poor snoozing dog just about hit the ceiling.

Pixel · 06/05/2015 00:31

This was so well done, great acting and a real feel for the time without over-egging it. Am really looking forward to the next bit!

I read that the girl said it was a hoax but then later admitted she'd only said that to stop people asking her about it.
