My 14 year old has been counting how often the presenters have said the word 'secret' or 'secretly' or 'secrets'

The count is up to 47 now..

Just sayin'

We're watching because we've had a busy week and it falls in the category of "screensaver telly" - gentle, scenic, undemanding, no guns or violence. All those David Attenborough/BBC natural history series fall in the same category. I'm finding the presenters a bit smug tbh.

Now I want to go on the Hogwarts train!

timeforabrewnow · 22/04/2015 21:59

Oh gosh - the count has just hit 51!!

But yes, I would have enjoyed it more if DS hadn't started this counting lark -

Final count in now, 54...

There were a LOT.

The female presenter wasn't dressed appropriately at all for hiking up a mountain whereas her male colleague was. You don't need to be glamorous walking up a mountain for goodness sake,, she drove me mad so I switched halfway.

SummerHouse · 22/04/2015 22:28

Yes! I even thought of starting a thread. I can only think that they thought "hang on, Ben Nevis is not really a secret is it?" So they had to talk about its secret hidden crevices, secret charms, secret wonders and secret hidden secrets. Oh yes and the secret finale. A secret hill race with 200 secret contestants. Was it secretly a spoof? Ahhhhhhhhhh.

timeforabrewnow · 22/04/2015 22:32

Oh no - don't get me started again - at one point this evening I was laughing my head off as we couldn't believe how many times the farmer man had said secret...

It distracted me from any interesting parts of the program.

I thought that Scotland was pretty well known until an hour ago. Now I know it is a secret!

Was impressed with the overgrown relief map though (map geek).

springismyfavourite · 22/04/2015 22:37

Me too bikerunski (another map geek Smile)

chocolateyay · 22/04/2015 22:39

We were playing bingo too!

Jermajesty · 22/04/2015 22:40

I turned off as I couldn't stand the way the presenters alternated the words in practically every sentence.

capercaillie · 22/04/2015 22:43

Was amused that a lot of secret scotland seems to be within 1 hour or less of fort William...

SummerHouse · 22/04/2015 22:46

And the secret loch monster. Not that common as muck nessy but murial or morag or whatever they called it. Its so secret I can't remember.

BikeRunSki · 22/04/2015 22:58

Grin Spring

Cooroo · 22/04/2015 23:07

We watched the Yorkshire one last week. It was painful. They said 'God's own country' 30 times if they said it once. And all that finishing each others' sentences. The script was patronising and tedious.

Did I mention I didn't like it much?

clangermum · 23/04/2015 18:27

I know it's a secret and all, but those hanging rags were hideous

clangermum · 23/04/2015 18:29

And at the end, is the sun really a big secret?

chocolateyay · 23/04/2015 18:32

I've seen the hanging bras. I'm rattling my brains to rember where it was though.
