I am SO happy that the 2012 (Olympics) lot are carrying on where they left off and now bumbling thru corporate life at the BBC in 'W1A'. My total joy is the constantly texting, very dim, totally nutty PR woman who doesnt even know what BBC actually stands for. Happy sigh. The mocking 'documentary' stylee voice over by Russell Tenant is also just priceless re corporate life and its BS/madness.

Is there a new series or was it a repeat? Loved it.

Sazzle41 · 21/04/2015 12:31

There was a one off pilot of 'W1A' and now its a whole series. The Olympics is over and the 'team' are now at the BBC and the bosses role is promoting and protecting the BBC's image. (I think).

'2012' where they were shambolically organising (or tying to) the Olympics has finished repeating on an obscure channel i forget the name of.

The joy of this is if you have consistent experience of corporate BS & inept rubbishness you will be howling. The comedy actress who plays PR woman should get an award ... Jessica ... aargh whats her name????

There were a few episodes in series 1. I'm really looking forward to this.

Davros · 23/04/2015 15:54

There was a whole series one. It doesn't sound like you are famiar with IT OP, you're not posting for the BBC under cover are you? Grin
The second series starts this week, can't remember which night but I will be watching

Davros · 23/04/2015 17:24

Tonight 9pm bbc2. I hope they've still got the intern. Say again?

BowiesJumper · 23/04/2015 17:34

This is the second series of it, there was a full series 1, not just a pilot. It was very funny! Looking forward to it.

BowiesJumper · 23/04/2015 17:35

Also, Russell Tennant Grin

Sazzle41 · 23/04/2015 21:30

No not BBC mole! Yes i watched whole series but am terrible at names, its Jessica Hynes who plays nutty, dim PR. And Hugh Bonneville is the rather lovely boss. I would be his PA any time. I tend to sit there sniggering at the corporate BS and priceless voiceover by lovely Russell 'ten inch' (according to Billie Piper) Tennant.

I have had Grads like their Intern, i found them in the lifts on the first day, they "didnt know they had to press the buttons" . They'd been gone an hour!

I love this. The whole Jeremy Clarkson thing!

YawnyMcYawn · 23/04/2015 22:46

They couldn't have planned it better!

fortyfide · 24/04/2015 12:12

I think long term workers at BBC will recognise themslves in WlA It rings partly true. Meetings piled on top of meetings before decisions are ground out

The80sweregreat · 24/04/2015 13:02

I feel for the writer trying to get his script on tv. The guy clearly hasnt read it. They are stringing him along, its so unfair! The intern is funny. I thought it went on a bit last night - the Huge bonneville character is the only sane one in it!

chocolatelife · 24/04/2015 17:53

really enjoyable, but is it on next week? they talked about something else being on bbc2 9 pm on a thursday Confused

chocolatelife · 24/04/2015 17:54

am dying to go to a meeting at work and say, Its all Good. and stuff like that. cool.

Instituteofstudies · 24/04/2015 18:00

I loved it. So clever. I wish we could do more comedy to such a high standard here.

I just knew that Will was going to end up either being given the watching 4 years of Top Gear task, or that he'd volunteer for it :) It was priceless when he'd forgotten to log the times of each 'Tosser' down. The commentary is really good and I love the deadpan delivery.

So glad it's back.

stareatthetvscreen · 24/04/2015 23:10

half an hour ep next week - chocolate

YawnyMcYawn · 25/04/2015 20:12

I can't watch Atlanis without expecting the wicked queen to say 'I've already said what I think about that'Grin
