Lead Balloon the new Jack Dee comedy is superb. Showing on BBC4 but has already been started on BBC2 last week due to ratings.
Intelligent grown up humour with an aray of great characters.
Meant to post last week but was on nights only 1st episode has been shown so if you get the chance watch it Thursdays BBC2 9:30 it will brighten up your day.
My dh loves it and he doesn't normally like Jack Dee.
It won't matter that you've missed the first one it is not fast paced so easy to catch up.
Anyone else seen it? What do you think?

Very dry, I liked it!

missymoosal · 01/11/2006 20:48

It was such a surprise to find intelligent comedy that relied on subtle dry quips instead of the usual brain dead drivel we are served. The absence of canned laughter is also very soothing gives you a chance to listen and laugh at what amuses you instaed of what the producer thinks you should laugh at.
I find myself looking more and more at BBC3+4.
There are some gems tucked away like the recent 'I'm with stupid' that featured actors with disabilities, and 'Bodies' the most brutally honest challenging medical drama series I have ever seen. As a nurse myself I was amazed that it was allowed to be shown it's accuracy was chillingly on target.

methinks you are in the wrong job - you are obviously a telly critic!

missymoosal · 01/11/2006 20:53

I'd so love to be a TV critic 'gissa job'

its shit

missymoosal · 02/11/2006 15:25

That's what makes the world an interesting place to be we all have different points of view.
Not a Jack dee fan usually but this really tickles me - humour is very personal.
