High School Musical-Someone explain...

Why my almost 13 year old son and all his friends are watching what sounds like the worst kind of pappy,pop music that I have heard since the end of Bucks Fizz's career.

He is the son of an ex-goth for Gawd's sake.I was listening to the Smiths,Echo and the Bunnymen,the Mission,the Cult,the Cure and the Sisters of Mercy at his age.
Where have I gone wrong?
Have I finally fallen into the Generation Gap?

I have just done an impression of my mother by shouting into the lounge"What the hell is that crap you are listening to in there?!"

My boys love it too!

I think it's 'Grease' 'Dirty Dancing' 'Flashdance' and 'Fame' all rolled into one for their generation.

We've even got the soundtrack in the car!!
