Dh and I can't watch a programme on TV now without the following conversation:

"Oh what's he been in before?"
"I dunno, I'll look on IMDB"

We also try and guess their age!

Please tell we aren't the only saddos who do this

I love IMDB, no more "whose that actor" "what were they in before " moments.
DD has just discover IBDB which is a similar Broadway database wish they had one for the West End

We do it all the time I wonder how we coped with the stress before it was invented.

I did used to have a book that listed films and actors, it came out every couple of years or so and was fairly limited on information. Think it was Halliwells film guide Leonard Maltings Movie Guide which were useful but not as wonderful as IMDB

I can't watch anything without IMDB Trivia-ing it. You get fascinating snippets; did you know the boy who falls out of the tree in Groundhog Day is now a TV news reporter? And that Bill Murray got badly bitten by a groundhog twice during filming? And isn't your life better now you have that information?

My husband seems to live on IMDB - he will pleased he's not alone

We're exactly the same. As are my parents, it's got to the point that my Mum now calls my Dad's i-pad the IMDB-er because that's all age uses it for!! bruffin I had completely forgotten about those books, but we used to have those as well (think I still have the 1994 Halliwells somewhere )

All she uses it for. Sorry.

I found my old copy the other day, dh asked if wanted to keep it or throw it away!

Phew! Love Agent 60's mum. I was going to ask how everyone coped before - Radio Times was useful but the Halliwells guide sounds good.

bruffin/agent160 pre internet we used Halliwells all the time. It was great but if only I'd had the amazing IMDB available when I was studying film & drama in the 70s!
We do guess the rating/how old/and never watch a film if it's rated less than 6.
