I thought Philippa the psychotherapist was brilliant, really insightful. Did you know she is Grayson Perry's wife?

Watched it today,. She was lovely. I didnt know she was his wife! I felt so sad for Paul, the one in the band. It was really good. Taught me a lot about a subject i know little about.

Wow didn't know she was Grayson Perrys wife. I really loved the docu. I felt for all of them and was really insightful.

Just watched it. I really rate Philippa Perry. I even buy Red as she is its agony aunt and dispenses good kind advice. She used to have a thought-provoking column in psychologies mag too which I liked.
There's a rather heated twitter storm going with her being accused of all sorts re. the documentary Being Bipolar. With that in mind I listened really carefully to the film and she never says people shouldn't take meds or that the condition doesn't exist or that it is entirely environmental. Just that it's all a bit complicated. And that she supports psychotherapy. Which you kind of expect a psychotherapist to say.

Yes I think the point she was making was that once a diagnosis of bipolar is made that's where the story ends for many patients. Take the meds, we can't help you further.

I am surprised that none of the patients she worked with were taking Lithium because I've always been led to believe that was a really effective treatment. Perhaps it doesn't make the drug companies enough money Hmm
