We're over half way there I think, which is good considering he thought it would be a 3 day job to pack and move everything. Because we're only moving down the road, they've taken everything they've packed to the new house, which unfortunately includes my pants, so I'll be going commando tomorrow

Ok I need a second (also third, fourth, fifth and sixth) opinions on this:

When someone says you'll do grand, and they're Irish what exactly does it mean?
Mr Mouse informs me I have no need to be nervous about my first big bike lesson because 'I'll do grand'
I say it means 'fair' or 'meh'. Either way distinctly average to poor.
He says he means 'fine'.

Wtf does it mean?

Actually 'fine' doesn't fill me with confidence either

To me "grand" means more than fine in a I'm confident you'll do well way.

Grand just means grand! Irish father here who never uses that expression but he's saying you'll be fine.

Ok that's a bit more reassuring

I dunno I always assumed grand was a bit non committal.
