Who's looking forward to these tonight then? I'm looking forward to Cucumber especially, the Henry character looks pretty funny from the trailers. I'll turn over for Banana if it's good, the young actor playing Dean looks familiar though I can't remember where from. I see Julie Hesmondhalgh is in it too, will be strange to see her not being Hayley Cropper.

I liked Cucumber. I loved QAF back in the day and agree with PP that the characters in Cucumber definitely aren't as easy on the eye as the frankly beautiful men in QAF, but in some ways I think that's part of its appeal - kind of like QAF gone to seed Grin.

Loved the scene with Henry dancing to Kylie, although that bloody song must have been on a never ending loop!

Wonder how many did the Henry test..

For those of you that were QAF fans back in the day, have you seen Sons of Anarchy? The lad who played Nathan (Charlie Gunman) plays the lead role of Jax. I was so shocked when I saw him! He sure ain't that little blonde Geordie lad any more!

And that was supposed to say Hunman!

itstheyearzero · 29/01/2015 21:47

Dammit Hunnam!

Watching cucumber as I recorded it. I missed episode 1 though and trying to understand what is going on in episode 2 is near impossible. I presumed Henry was squatting in the young blonde bloke's flat for some unknown reason but they then opened alcohol and said they were drinking his booze. If it's his flat why is he sleeping on the floor not in the bedroom and why is he letting the arrogant blonde bloke in his 20s push him around when he isn't even sleeping with him.
It's all too silly.
If you want to pick up viewers as the series goes on you've got to have an easily pick-upable plot.
The black guy seems the only likeable character it it.
