Couldn't see a new Eastenders thread, so I thought I'd start one. Apologies if this is a duplication.

Great to hear Christian could be coming back.

It clicked when she said Carly I remember deano being the annoying little brother hanging around them

Southeastdweller · 30/01/2015 21:12

I'm also surprised Dean was let go. He slipped up by saying Linda was silent when they 'had sex' but clearly the police thought otherwise about it.

buddhasbelly · 30/01/2015 21:23

I'm not surprised dean got bail. there has to be a clear need for a remand in custody for bail not to be granted in an ongoing investigation. Sorry I don't mean to sound arsey, just speaking from experience.

Lola will be having the next Dean baby.

Mrsjayy · 30/01/2015 21:41

Thing is Dean doesn't think he is wrong he genuinely believes women don't need to say anything

Southeastdweller · 30/01/2015 21:45

Interesting MrsD but the EE boss has already said there'll be no traditional justice for Dean.

CrapBag · 30/01/2015 21:45

The thing is Linda did very clearly say no and stop it. He is lying about that completely. I think he is kidding himself to an extent because she didn't fight him off but just 'let him' but she definitely told him no. Her account was 100% accurate.

Mrsjayy · 30/01/2015 21:49

Dean just thought she was playing hard to get

Mrsjayy · 30/01/2015 21:51

Yeah she did say no

MagpieCursedTea · 30/01/2015 21:58

I think Dean has managed to convince himself that he hasn't done anything wrong and that she didn't mean it when she said no.

Mrsjayy · 30/01/2015 22:02

Aye he has but I guess it happens they convince themselves

Southeastdweller · 30/01/2015 22:02

The fact that Linda was silent during the rape may be confusing him (though of course it doesn't justify what he did).

Snapespeare · 30/01/2015 22:02

I'm not reading back, because I'm catching up, but I just wanted to say how much I love shabnam. I loved her when she was independent and fierce, and I love her when she is vulnerable.

I like how her friendship with Stacey is depicted as well; a bit spiky, but they are there for each other in a kind of sisterly way..and I think that's very gentle and true. :-)

Southeastdweller · 30/01/2015 22:03

Meant to say it's helped him convince him there was no rape.

LemonBreeland · 30/01/2015 22:13

I was surprised that the Police didn't pick up on Dean basically saying that no consent was given.

I am loving Shabnam and Stacy too. There is obviously more to this story.

MagpieCursedTea · 30/01/2015 23:25

Had Dean just been let go then or is it pending further investigation?

VashtaNerada · 30/01/2015 23:38

DH (police officer) is not surprised that Dean was bailed. Under normal circumstances you'd bail him to an address away from Walford but they might have let him back because of the salon (ie they wouldn't take away his livelihood). However his bail conditions almost certainly would have prevented him from returning to the scene of the crime and talking to the victim!

VashtaNerada · 30/01/2015 23:39

Police should also have phoned Linda before he was bailed.

AGnu · 30/01/2015 23:56

By my reckoning, ShabDean's baby must be about 6. I'm not yet seeing where this storyline is going, other than the obvious "Shabs comes to terms with it, tells her family, finds her daughter" plot. I didn't catch it, did she say she was put into the care system or that she'd been adopted? I'm guessing she'll conveniently still be in care (possible storyline about there not being enough adopters of the same race?) & Shabs can get her back.

I must say, I like all the Masoods. Masood is funny & sweet, if a bit of a doormat sometimes, Shabnam is feisty & portrays an interesting blend of western culture/Muslim tradition & Tamwar reminds me of Eeyore. I love his randomness & dry sense of humour. "I'm just going to walk the streets. No, that came out wrong. I'm just going to go.... out.... side.... outside." Grin

I do wonder if Dean might attempt to re-build his life by starting something with Lola. Shirley made some comment about how before Christmas he had a girlfriend & a job he liked & he should try to get back to that. Lola seems to be the only one of the under-middle-age lot who actively likes him now. I doubt they're going to go down the multiple-rapes route. That would make him easier to catch, & more difficult for him to lie to himself. Mick's blatantly going to beat him up though. Maybe he'll actually castrate him! I swear watching EE makes me more violent & more tolerant of mob-justice! Everyone seems to have forgotten that Dean spiked Stacey's drink many years ago.

okeydonkey · 31/01/2015 00:01

I think Shab said that baby is adopted.

differentnameforthis · 31/01/2015 01:17

Re Lola, what happened with her and Jay? Jay broke Abby's heart because he was in llove with Lola, but nothing ever came that, did it?

I think Phil would kill Dean if he hurt Lola. Phil has a soft spot for Lola (replacement daughter after Lisa ran off with their girl, whose name I cant even recall) and he would be v protective if it came to it.

DieselSpillages · 31/01/2015 07:07

So was Shabnam also raped by Dean ? It would help Linda's case against him if she spoke out. There's a moral dilemna there for Shabnam which they can drag out for months.

SoupDragon · 31/01/2015 08:27

It didn't sound like she was raped from what she said. She said He was too drunk to remember but said nothing to indicate it wasn't consential on her part. At least I didn't think so.

saltedcaramelicious · 31/01/2015 08:57

I wondered whether EE will go down the route of Shab being raped by Dean because she was drunk and therefore could not consent?
