I couldn't see a thread on this,

I missed the last series as it was a bit gruesome. Well the bits I tried to watch. But liked the one last week but am missing Gorgeous Harry.

I liked the DCI lady she was cool but am assuming she won't be back.

I watched it last week for the first time... More graphic than I expected but enjoyed it nonetheless!

Is it on tonight?

Lardylassnomore · 12/01/2015 19:29

After not watching it for a few years I have to say I liked it.

PeaStalks · 13/01/2015 14:30

I miss Handsome Harry (as he is known in this house) as well OP
DS2 and I have watched Silent Witness for years but I ended up deleting the last series because it was gratuitously graphic.
This one was watch able but not up to the quality of earlier series.

HalleLouja · 14/01/2015 13:13

I need to catch up with this week once I convince DD not to watch any more Peppa and then I will be back. But Harry was definitely Handsome and this series is definitely less gory than the last one.

I've just watched on catchup. What I couldn't understand was what was going on when Lana saw Owen's pic on tv as 'wanted by police' (she was in bed), she locks herself in the bedroom (as if she is terrified of him) and then he smashes the door down and there's a 'please don't kill me' scene etc. When you see the ending, I'm not sure why that scene was in there except to convince us that he was the killer and that she is a silly girl who let's an unknown vagrant into her life.

I'm gripped and I have downloaded the first two SWs which are a different story. Hope it's as good.

Whoreandpeace · 15/01/2015 09:28

Which one is Handsome Harry?

HalleLouja · 15/01/2015 09:40

Whore Handsome Harry is no longer in SW Sad.

The first two episodes were really good. I just need to finish watching the second two parter.

Ive seen both, and this series is very predictable for me to watch. I do like a surprise, but last and this weeks were too obvious for me. I'm still gonna carry on watching it, as I've pretty much seen them all, and want some surprises.

onadifferentplanet · 15/01/2015 09:54

Have only just got back into watching this for the first time since the Amanda Burton days. Does anyone know if I will be able to find any of the previous series to catch up. So far I have only found them on DVD but thought maybe they are to be found on something like Netflix?

OttiliaVonBCup · 15/01/2015 09:59

I quite liked the new episodes.
Agree that scene was a bit misleading, and I also though the tube station scene was off, surely police would stop any trains running through when they do a big arrest.

HalleLouja · 15/01/2015 15:47

The copper did say to stop the trains. But obviously that didn't get through Hmm.

The scene where she locked herself in after it was found out he did it, was really odd in retrospect. Maybe she enjoyed playing the victim.

So were both of them working together from the beginning then? Or did lana and Owen really were strangers at first? I found their relationship very confusing.

OttiliaVonBCup · 15/01/2015 18:00

She was with Israel, the first victim and then she pushed him under the train and befriended Owen.

They didn't know each other, they first met when she dropped the tenner.

dillite · 15/01/2015 22:12

Ah, ok, thanks.

Squtternutbaush · 15/01/2015 23:42

I'm liking it so far, tbh I think Jack is much more gawp-worthy than Harry was with his weird non-existant chin but like others I didn't watch the last series because I just couldn't get into it without Harry and Leo.

Agree this weeks episode was quite oddly written, the bathroom scene didn't fit, the trains continuing despite the cop shouting to stop them and the Laurie telling Lana that he remembered her... From where??

Although more to the point where do I recognise Lana from, she's very familiar?!

ThinBoxking · 16/01/2015 00:00

There were definitely bits that didn't add up in this week's story. So Lana "recruited" Owen to revenge all the people who had her child adopted. The Rosemary bit in hindsight didn't add up with the other scenes between them, e.g. clearly she was killed by Owen or Owen and Lana because she was strangled with the drive belt and stabbed with Owen's special tool (plus CCTV showed Owen followed her). But, it's stretching the imagination that he'd go along with the break-in and murder having only met Lana the same day. Let alone arrive at Lana's after her and with no sign of blood on his (one set of) clothes or hands??

Lana must have been at Rosemary's too because case notes were missing, Owen only found out about the adoption later, so he couldn't have been put up to taking them. All very inconsistent, pity really as it was good otherwise.

cherrytree63 · 20/01/2015 02:28

I'm really enjoying it so far. But can anyone enlighten me as to why Lana pushed Israel under the train, and why he'd rang 999 a little while earlier?
Drama channel are showing old episodes on Sundays at 9pm.

HalleLouja · 20/01/2015 21:56

He must have thought he was in some danger I think. I need to catch up with this week.

OP posts:
wednesdaygirl · 28/01/2015 10:22

Lana had baby at 14
Child looked and talked like he was 3
So lana was 17/18 she looked older

HalleLouja · 05/02/2015 09:58

I am really liking this series. Though need to catch up with next week.

It seems to be less gory than last series which I gave up on.

Did she lock herself in because Owen was going to go mental when he discovered he was the one being sought for the killings ? I missed bits re Rosemary (DD picked a bad time to get out of bed !) - so she had old case notes in her house ? Would that be usual ?
I did like the 'twist' in it although it was fairly unlikely/unbelievable - I guess they were working on the idea that because Lana placed her trust in Owen/treated him as a person that had worth it immediately created a strong bond that meant he would do any thing for her
