Anyone know how to turn off audio description on iPlayer

Trying to watch the Strictly Christmas Special and there's a really intrusive voice over which I can't get rid of. Googling tells me to hit the letter s above the picture but it doesn't seem to be active, as nothing happens.

It'll be something you pressed on your remote control?

Yes, I started a thread about Silent Witness when this happened to me! It's the button that says AD on the remote control.

tried to watch Shetland on my PC as I missed it and AD was on and I could not turn it off - even by clicking on the AD button on the screen
so not a remote control problem in that case
any suggestions would be gratefully received as I never had this problem before.

aah - just seen there is the equivalent of a turn off AD button on the first screen before I start playing the film - so it seems AD is the default and has to be manually (as it were) turned off. Hope that helps anyone befuddled by this
