Someone wanted a character list. I have, with a bit of help from Wiki, come up with:

Quinn aka Woopert. Most of us definitely would, despite the resemblance to a ferret.
Lockhart - once hated, now we have some grudging respect.
Saul - all that is right and good in the world, with a passing resemblance to Life of Brian man who hasn't spoken in years.
Dar Adul aka Salieri - what's happened to him?
Fara - once an IT fraud geek, now an intrepid hands-on agent who doesn't keep enough of an eye on her bin bags.
Martha, the nice ambassador
Denis, her nefarious husband
John, second in command at CIA Lahore HQ, we're warming to him
Aayan aka Pi, now sailing the heavenly oceans with a tiger
Sandy, former CIA chief, now pushing up the daisies
Aasar Khan, aka Raza, aka Hot Spooks Guy
Bunran Latif, the General, aka Art Malik
Haqqani, the craggy Taliban leader who prefers to shag next to a bearded man chained to a radiator

Site of car bomb- a few marines are taken out by a sniper; Carrie & Saul discharge themselves from medical care and save the day back at the embassy.

I can't actually remember who was in each car .
I may have to watch the last episode again before the new one. Does anyone know where I can borrow a defibrillator, just in case I need it?

I started watching from season 1 again and ive really annoyed myself. Im on season 3 now and you know that whole plot between carrie and saul to have her committed to draw out the guys theyre after? Well in episode one her reactions (in private) show that she was completely furious with saul and that it was no act at all. I wonder was the show just being made up as they went along even after filming the first episodes because otherwise there is a massive discrepancy in the storyline.

And i still hate that we dont know who passed the razor blade

I remembered that at the time Why, but put it down to them both being very thorough in case they we're being watched etc. I also liked that we didn't know who passed the razor blades as things don't always tie up so neatly (although think I assumed it was Brody on that one as he had opportunity if I remember rightly & did turn out to be a terrorist in the end).

John has really surprised me I thought he was going to be a bad guy but I like him now

I'm already tense - my nerves really aren't up to this sort of embassy-invasion malarkey.

John won me over when Denis asked how he knew he was an alcoholic (I think) and John said "I'm a spy. I know shit." or words to that general effect.

I'm a-feared for John. I was wondering why the ex-CIA Director, the head of the Islamabad station and the deputy were travelling in the same car.

Granted there was a car ahead and one behind but if someone's going to die, I think it'll be John. We didn't even see the driver's face iirc so it's not him.

As for nerves, I can't stand the ads so I'll have to wait until the morning to watch.

A few people have said the phone call could've been the trigger, but that makes no sense. The attack was obviously timed precisely so that it would take place near to the embassy (4 blocks away I think they said) but not too close, and at just the right time for the marines to be drawn out, leaving the embassy unguarded when the baddies were in the tunnel.

Very exciting episode, apparently I was screaming at the tele!

Fiderer, now you've said it, I think you might be right about John. Poor John - we hardly knew you.

And yes, I sort of assumed the glasses or the phone call were some sort of a trigger, but they can't have been - it was just all part of showing us that Saul was getting back to his normal self.

Also agree that the phone call and glasses weren't triggers, but were more like plot devices. He's safe now, nearly one the way home. He has people both in the car and in the USA who care for him...

I think I am finally up to date so at long last I can join the thread without worrying about spoilers. Have just watched the episode called 'There's something else going on' which starts with Carrie questioning Dennis.

Must get kids to bed, pronto, so I can get back down and settled into my front-row seat! Agree that things aren't looking good for John.
