They seem really sweet all of them

Yep, I've seen all their previous programmes.

I like them and I think they're a lovely family. People make judgments but they seem to be doing a lot better than many smaller families.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/12/2014 21:18

I find them fascinating.

bambinibop · 02/12/2014 21:18

I agree. Part of me thinks does the world need that many more people but then I felt bad because each one of them seem really cherished by their family and they just seem really nice and normal!

How do they keep their food bill under £200? That's awesome budgeting.

bambinibop · 02/12/2014 21:19

I wonder if she is on mn? !

I think they seem lovely. Are they Mormons?

AppleRings · 02/12/2014 21:22

I missed the first bit, where has the oldest girl gone?

lucjam · 02/12/2014 21:22

I doubt it Bambini, where would she get the time?!

Snargaluff · 02/12/2014 21:23

She's gone to Uni applerings

bambinibop · 02/12/2014 21:25

Very true luc !! She can't have time to do anything on her own...

I think it verges on mental illness to be honest Shock There's no need to have so many children, and they can't possibly give each one enough attention.

Shootthemoon · 02/12/2014 21:25

They seem like the sweetest family!

It is £200 a week though - so £800-£1000 a month on food!

I would have found it complete torture growing up in the house though - won't someone think of the introverts?!

RoastitBubblyJocks · 02/12/2014 21:26

I think the oldest girl moved a few doors down with her DP and baby Apple

Snargaluff · 02/12/2014 21:27

It looks like they all get a lot of attention. The children seem very happy.

Sparklingbrook · 02/12/2014 21:28

I am sure they are all lovely and all that. But I think that is an unnecessary amount of children to have. IMO etc.

I have two, and three would have been too many.

handfulofcottonbuds · 02/12/2014 21:28

What an amazing family! I am in awe.

I bet they never get asked anywhere for Christmas though....

ohmychrist · 02/12/2014 21:29

How can they afford everything on a baker' s salary?

mamapain · 02/12/2014 21:30

I think they probably get enough attention because they're always occupied by siblings too.

I'm from a large family, although not that large. My DH is from double figures number of children family and they all liked it too. Obviously there are things to complain about but most people have something to complain about from their childhood anyway.

MiddletonPink · 02/12/2014 21:30

Sue seems to be a lot happier and involved with all of them in this episode instead of just seeing to the 'babies'. They do seem like lovely children.

fatterface · 02/12/2014 21:31

How many primary school children do they have? How many get to read with a parent every day, on top of all the attention multiple toddlers need? Plus all the housework. I don't think it's possible to give that many children enough attention.

Moln · 02/12/2014 21:32

They certainly seem like a fabulous family and very loving parents, but you do wonder at what point should you think stop.

I mean a family with five, whilst not that common, isn't that unusual, though is heading into the 'lot of kids' family. So what's the tipping point for saying it's a 'mental illness' or an 'addiction'

Teeb · 02/12/2014 21:33

Bakers salary plus £9,500 child benefit which I suppose pays for the food at least.

I didn't like the way the 12 year old girl was speaking about her role now as the eldest girl in the home, and how her brother didn't have those responsibilities. Those children can't be having much quality time with their parents.

bambinibop · 02/12/2014 21:34

I want to know when they get time to make the babies!

OP posts:
Shootthemoon · 02/12/2014 21:35

Teeb I was almost shouting at the TV - what about responsibilities for the boys?! They certainly ought to be able to manage to vacuum and tidy up a bit Confused
