Who was this comedian?

I don't know why but I suddenly have a vague memory of a tv show from my childhood (1970s). It was a US comedian (I think) and was set in his apartment although I don't think it was a sitcom as such.
I remember him as being quite tanned and keep thinking his name was Kim (or something else that could be used as either a male or female name).
Does anyone have a clue what I'm talking about?

Oh it suddenly came back to me as I pressed post - Kelly Monteith. So not Kim but not far off. No idea why I thought of it today though.

Kelly Monteith! haven't thought of him for years. Wasn't he Canadian?

Oh, I remember him (wouldn't have got it from your description though). That's a real blast from the past, haven't heard of him in donkey's years.

Just googled it - he had a regular guest slot on the Des O'Connor show before getting his own show. Maybe that's where I was getting the tanned thing from!

I got it from your description, I used to really like that programme.

It was set in London and his wife/girlfriend was played by Gabrielle Drake.
