What a gift for a programme-maker! Team up misogynistic, nose-picking, loud-mouthed, arrogant John McCririck with tough-talking feminist Edwina Currie, switch on the cameras and wait for the on-screen clashes and verbal sparring. They get that in spades but, as anyone who witnessed McCririck's revolting personal habits on last year's Celebrity Big Brother will guess, they get a lot more besides. And it's not pretty. Be warned: there are numerous sequences of him lying naked in bed eating spag bol and curry. That's definitely something to watch through your fingers, although then you'll still be able to hear the appalling things he says. I can only hope that McCririck likes winding people up and enjoys playing to the cameras, because if this is what he's really like, it's too dreadful for words.

Edwina came across as perfectly sane until the showdown, which was so ridiculously edited as to be incoherent.
