Oh some more trash for me to watch. It's line flicking through a copy of Lady magazine in the dentist.

OP posts:

I lasted three minutes.

ArabellaTarantella · 25/10/2014 23:26

I loved it. My Mum is now 94 and was in service in the 1930s/1940s - she said nothing's changed !!

clangermum · 26/10/2014 16:56

That kitchen in Kennington, having a chef, butler and under butler working from it Grin

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 26/10/2014 17:31

Dh and I loved itGrin

hollyisalovelyname · 27/10/2014 07:21

I lasted three minutes as well and deleted the recording

Nancy66 · 27/10/2014 08:07

i was awful. Just really cheap, contrived - and very fake - TV.

sickntiredtoo · 29/10/2014 09:10

Had that woman having the dinner party been a man previously? She looked very blokeish.

ImperialBlether · 29/10/2014 15:36

Lady Colin summat? No, she was a woman. Can anyone remember why she would call herself by a man's name?

ImperialBlether · 29/10/2014 15:39

Sorry, it seems she was registered as a boy (George) when she was born, but they later realised she was female.

hollyisalovelyname · 29/10/2014 15:42

She was married to a Lord or Sir Colin Campbell I think.

GilbertBlytheWouldGetBit · 29/10/2014 15:47

The lady who wanted a mother's help/groom/office staff seemed like she'd be a very demanding boss. To put it politely. I wonder whether she found the right person in the end?

carlsonrichards · 29/10/2014 15:50

No, Gilbert, all three of her employees had left in months. She came across as very hard work and the kind of boss who would be hovering and shadowing all the time.

Very unrealistic, too, in her expectations.

Lady El I'd like to work for.

ImperialBlether · 29/10/2014 15:55

Gilbert, she WAS demanding, wasn't she? I got the feeling nothing would be good enough for her. She changed that poor girl's job description, too - well, she changed both of the girls' job descriptions - no wonder they left. She seemed to have tremendous energy and just wanted to clone herself. Good for her with that product, though - she'd done a great job there.

AchyMcAcherson · 29/10/2014 16:01

The lady who lost 3 members of staff in 4 months. I bet she's a MNer. She just seemed like she would be. I spent the whole programme thinking that.

ImperialBlether · 29/10/2014 16:17

Yes, I did, too! In fact, if I hadn't seen Justine, I would have thought she INVENTED Mumsnet!

GilbertBlytheWouldGetBit · 29/10/2014 16:42

carlson, I saw the employees had all gone by the end of the show, I was just wondering whether she'd found anyone by now (not that I'm enquiring).

GilbertBlytheWouldGetBit · 29/10/2014 16:43

I would quite like to have been a "collaborator" for the arty chap.

carlsonrichards · 29/10/2014 17:16

The only thing is that the arty chap's own mum sacked him.

GilbertBlytheWouldGetBit · 29/10/2014 17:17

Grin yup, that she did. I got the impression there was a heck of a lot of a backstory. Perhaps he'd benefit from joining the Stately Homes threads, ironically enough.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 29/10/2014 21:52

Wrt the woman who lost all the staff,I predicted that would happen within 3 seconds of viewing time. Far too vague with job specifications imo. I've worked for people like her before

Truelymadlysleepy · 30/10/2014 10:14

I liked Lady El. But in Intern job looked very hard work for 'pocket money'.
The mothers help lady looked like a nightmare to work for.
