I lure RD Jnr but can't watch due to that utter Bonio being on it.

OP posts:
seanbonbon · 17/10/2014 20:09

Can't stand him either (and I'm irish so am supposed to worship the ground he walks on) but I wouldn't let anyone stop me from watching Robert Wink

Sallystyle · 17/10/2014 21:22

Yay U2 are on it! The only reason why I will watch it.

Bartlebee · 17/10/2014 21:24

I love Graham Norton, but I will record and skip through the U2 bits.

Sallystyle · 17/10/2014 21:35

:(

JavaSparrow · 17/10/2014 21:47

I can bear gn now he is on the BBC. Ignoring intros and goodbyes, I can tolerate him for the sake of the decent guests he gets in, and RD jr is worth tolerating a lot for IMO.

I also like the way he now gets a whole cast in and they joke amongst themselves and NG is a bit unnecessary.

carlajean · 17/10/2014 23:13

I'm only watching it for rdj and have utter indifference to all the other guests. But why is he getting so little attention? I really can't understand it . all that guff from Stephen Fry (yawn) and Robert Duvall ( like who gives a fuck) and now U2 (please go away) and hardly anything for the most articulate and entertaining and intelligent stars that we have.

Bambambini · 18/10/2014 00:42

God, it was dull. Can't believe even Taylor Swift was much more entertaining last week than tonight's lot.

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 18/10/2014 00:44

Utter utter cringe fest

BiscuitMillionaire · 18/10/2014 00:48

I'm disappointed as I thought maybe S Fry and RDJnr would have something interesting to say to each other about addiction and being in the public eye etc. But RDJnr hardly spoke! I like S Fry, I even like U2, but it was a bit of a let down.

There is something incredibly charismatic about him (RDJnr), couldn't take my eyes off him.

ssd · 18/10/2014 07:41

U2 were great, really good

S Fry is too up his own arse for me and RDJr would bore for Britain

I love GN, he's really funny

Sallystyle · 18/10/2014 08:05

Yep.. Bono is sounding amazing.

ssd · 18/10/2014 11:47

yep, really good

OwlCapone · 18/10/2014 11:49

I was expecting U2 to be twats but they had a good laugh at themselves.

I do love the GN show but rarely remember to watch it.

carlajean · 18/10/2014 16:49

Well, there we go..didn't anybody else notice a startling resemblance between someone in U2 and Paul Whitehouse?

Onedropoflove · 18/10/2014 19:59

U2 were great. Rover Duvall is a legend and had more charisma than DeNiro when he was on.

Arlagirl · 18/10/2014 20:03

I adore Robert Duvall. My favourite actor

ThursdayLast · 18/10/2014 20:08

U2 were as self obsessed as I expected. I had to give up and go to bed when they were on. But in all honesty SF seemed pompous, RDJ disinterested, bobby kinda fun.
Not top notch.
Come back Mark Wahlberg all us forgiven!

Sallystyle · 18/10/2014 20:26

They weren't self obsessed. I don't know what you were watching but they had a good laugh at themselves and they were funny and charming. Bono didn't preach, they just had a laugh. How exactly does laughing and having a joke come across as self obsessed? I am pretty sure most people who have been around for decades, still sell out on massive world tours would be a bit big headed ;)

I don't get all the U2 hate on MN's.

ThursdayLast · 18/10/2014 20:29

I'm seeing lots of people on this thread who said they thought U2 were great!

Onedropoflove · 18/10/2014 20:32

They were more entertaining than bloody Coldplay

Sallystyle · 18/10/2014 20:32

Yeah, but in general there is a lot of hate for u2 on mn.

It surprises me how they sell out on tours but yet social media is full of hatred for them. I bet their old fans still love them like me, and the younger generation on FB/twitter are doing most of the hating. I guess for young people they are just a bunch of old guys.

I just don't see how they came across as self obsessed. I think this was one of the best interviews they have done. Of course I live, breathe and eat U2 but I know Bono can come across as very holier than tho which can be very off putting. I just didn't see that last night :)

Sallystyle · 18/10/2014 20:33

And the vocal in Songs for someone was stunning.

Heels99 · 18/10/2014 20:37

First song was dire, bono sounded awful. The acoustic song was much better. Stephen fry yawn.

ThursdayLast · 18/10/2014 20:40

Ok!

Lucky for U2 (and Coldplay) there's enough people in the world for them to sell out tours AND have mass dislike Smile

I do love some of the old stuff though.

Onedropoflove · 18/10/2014 20:49

I adore Party Girl.
