Anyone know what the f Peaky Blinders is actually about?

Well I know it's very atmospheric and enigmatic but I still can't work out what it's actually about. The IRA? Who are these conflicting groups and why do they hate each other..?

The Peaky Blinders were a criminal gang based in Birmingham, England, in the late 19th century and, to a lesser extent, in the early 20th century. They were one of the urban youth gangs in the era, which were among the earliest of modern street subcultures.

Mind you, I can't work out half of what they are saying. But it is worth every single minute to watch Cillian Murphy !
