Seeing that I killed the first one, here's a new one.

I found that a tad uncomfortable tbh, he was very self unaware (if that's a thing)

Hope Daniel bombs next week, bloody rentagob

CalamitouslyWrong · 29/10/2014 22:31

Your dad dying is probably one of the few times in your life when having to watch videos of people being nasty about you on national TV would be a preferable experience.

AliceDoesntLiveHereAnymore · 29/10/2014 22:32

well,he'll have to keep the chopping block in check next week or the show will end early.

Night Noel & all, see you next week Halloween Smile

dillite · 30/10/2014 00:38

Finally caught up with it all- I am surprised Dara and the rest are still alive, the looks Stephen was giving them were murderous. How self-unaware can anyone possibly be? Can you imagine working with him, or even worse, asking him for help?

And Sarah, her face is so botoxed to the high heavens that she can barely smile. She looked like she was ready to shred everyone present into a billion of tiny pieces too.

OP posts:
hattymattie · 30/10/2014 09:58

I'd really like to see how Sarah looked after a makeover. Her current look is doing her no favours whatsoever. I think Lord Sugar has fired the more entertaining candidates (longs for the days of Stuart Baggs and Katie Hopkins).

Silkchiffon · 30/10/2014 11:07

Don't think they're having enough of Nick and Karren - although I suppose there's only so many times and ways you can observe how clueless the candidates are being.

Karren looks odd to me, very grumpy and frumpy - that hair! She is so sharp in real life but is being sidelined. I expect that's why Margaret left.

EJ's begging was awful to watch but I'm sure I remember a few series back someone actually did successfully beg to be allowed to stay so she probably thought it was worth a shot. Got a feeling the person who begged to stay got fired the following week anyway...unless it was all dream!

limitedperiodonly · 30/10/2014 12:52

I am so sad that Stephen and Sarah have gone. It's not a proper business show. It's entertainment. I want to see clowns.

Philoslothy · 30/10/2014 13:02

I felt very uncomfortable watching Stephen last night in You're Fired. Felt a little exploitative,.

HairyMagratsScare · 30/10/2014 13:23

Presumably though that's why the extra contestants were 'unveiled' at the start, so that we could have the 'drama' of 3 being fired in one go a bit later on. Lots of gasps & Twitter alight with the reactions & so on...

Cheap trickery

BeyondTheSea · 30/10/2014 20:56

I agree with you philoslothy

R4roger · 30/10/2014 22:50

i am sorry stephen went, he became pretty quiet for a couple of episodes.
and i am not sure why Ella was fired Confused

Nanadookdookdook · 31/10/2014 06:50

The standard of candidate seems lower - from a business experience point of view.

EJ had only studied, Stephen managed a Care Home (I think) and Sarah was a hypnotherapist who checks out dating sites - how does any of that make you a whizzy business entrepreneur?

Silkchiffon · 31/10/2014 09:16

You're right Nan, the ethos of the show has become very muddled - originally I think it was supposed to be similar to Dragon's Den with a mix of deluded oddballs and level-headed business grafters with the possiblity that it might just turn up someone with serious potential.

Someone like sarah is probably tough enough and deluded enough to take being put up for cheap laughs for a few weeks before getting the boot but as people have noted it's quite different for someone like Stephen or Ella-Jade.

They should allow Karren and Nick to do more mentoring for each team as this is one of the things viewers like on X-factor.

I also don't understand why they give them so little time on a task like the online channel - they're filming in advance so why not allow them a week at least and they might come up with something less crap but still entertaining.

CalamitouslyWrong · 31/10/2014 09:41

I'm pretty sure the BBC have decided that this is purely a comedy rather than anything else. I don't think anyone involved in the production thinks this has anything to do with business.

Well, apart from the more deluded contestants. Some of them seem to realise, because no one would say some of the things they do if they weren't looking for laughs. The sales pitch with 'well I wouldn't wear it in public' for example. And the video ideas this week were so ludicrous they can't have been properly serious about the task.

If you were serious, you'd have made funny videos of cats on glass tables or something. That's the sort of shit you'll get a quick audience on YouTube with. Grin you're not going to build up a proper channel with one or two videos, so you need to produce the crap people share on facebook.

CalamitouslyWrong · 31/10/2014 09:46

EJ was fired because Alan sugar (I refuse to call him sir or Lord, even in jest) made her leader on the task. She'd said her business idea was a tv production company, but she proved that she couldn't cope with making a YouTube video never mind making tv programmes people would want to watch.

The losing project manager was going to be fired from the start. It was obviously setting one of them up to fail.

Going on about how she has no experience of anything but being a student in the boardroom is a bit unfair. They knew that when she was put on the programme, clearly with the intention of throwing it at her when she fell into then trap they set for her.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 04/11/2014 11:38

Catching up after my holidays. What are these videos all about ?

ChippingInAutumnLover · 05/11/2014 14:32

Ken they were dire. Absolutely dire. They had to make a video and the team that won would be the one with the most 'hits'. Fat Daddy (fitness video) v Ready Steady Cook/Meets toddler cooking program. I have to go out now or I'd explain more...you could try watching it on iPlayer- or do your brain cells a favour and 'move on' Grin

See you all tonight!

KenDoddsDadsDog · 05/11/2014 20:17

Oh no just watching now , double bill . Poor Felipe Sad

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 05/11/2014 20:58

Hello hello everyone.
