Couldn't help wondering how much was dramatic licenseGrin

Tipping(?) calling lady Catherine's character into question!

i thought he worked for the council & it was a planning appeal, not that he was defence for a murdererHmm

and the penguin in church & at the hearing-really?

Ooh yes, & the vicar just about declaring his undying love for Lizzie.
(Presumably only if they could live at Oakfield togetherGrin)

i'm hoping a lot was fiction, was rather sad when the aviary was damaged and the birds flew away. i hope nobody in the village would do that.

loved the series though. anyone know of mew and the postboy get together?

diddl · 10/10/2014 15:08

Yes the birds getting loose was awful.

But I was Hmm at the penguins being herded(?) through the village & at bears being kept behind a couple of gates & a door!

AND at wild animals being transported in a rickety old van!

When the vicar said about George being selfish & stopping at nothing, I did wonder if he was pretty close to the mark with that.

i also wondered about Mu & Archie & Frankie losing her job.

I'd be pretty interested in a follow up about the characters!

WHAT!!! No way was it the final episode??? I thought you just meant the latest episode. Oh no. How abrupt. What a weird place to end it. I wanted to see the zoo grow and visitors loving it :( v short series!

diddl · 10/10/2014 15:16

i think it was the last.

Yes although them fighting for planning/license was interesting, seeing the animals/first visitors would also have been great.

I mean we know how the appeal would end!

if you go on the chester zoo website there is a lot of info about the origins of the zoo and the mottershead family.
the bbc have based it very loosely on the truth!

george already had a mini zoo with lots of animals and people coming to visit regularly when he decided he needed bigger premises and so bought the upton site. so the bit with the neighbours and the mothers etc is all fiction.

they did have a big battle ofor planning permission though.

even though it's not true i do love it! i have to record it every week for my son-i think it should be on about 7.30pm on an sunday though!

diddl · 10/10/2014 15:22

Yes I think that it would have been ideal sunday evening viewing!

Yes, it was the last of 6 but I'm sure I read (RT?) that they hoped to make more

Mumzy · 11/10/2014 16:04

I'm sure there will be another series they left so many unanswered qustions. There must be loads of funny/ sad zoo stories they can use bit like call he midwives. We all loved it and hope it will return
