Anyone watching?

Yes. Have been waiting for someone to start a thread.

Honeezreturn · 06/10/2014 21:54

I missed the start, bit like gogglebox with food! Lol at the mum bashing the gong for dinner time!

I missed the start. Lol at the mum banging the gong for lunchtime!

I've laughed out loud at this. Loving the polar opposites of the family with chicken popcorn from iIceland and the posh ones having pheasant curry.
That old couple though-its exactly how i don't want my old age to be, he'll be buggered if she goes first.
The PR woman in hats looks familiar though.

Honeezreturn · 06/10/2014 21:56

Sorry, phones gone mad

I keep thinking some of these are definitely mners, surely.

DuelingFanjo · 06/10/2014 22:01

Fuck me, the frisbee on the head woman must surely be taking the piss? And the 'we haven't had a dinner party since the kids' was so posh I could barely understand a word she was saying.

BBC does Gogglebox.

ILoveOnionRings · 06/10/2014 22:02

I really enjoyed watching it - the PR woman irritated me.

ILoveOnionRings · 06/10/2014 22:04

She reminded me a bit of Saffys Mom in AbFab

WestmorlandSausage · 06/10/2014 22:06

I wondered if the elderly couple might have featured here as a PILS story...

OpiesOldLady · 06/10/2014 22:17

I thought it was hilarious! The old couple who couldn't eat anything when they went on holiday to Italy as it was all Italian food....

Honeezreturn · 06/10/2014 22:26

Was that womans pink hat welded to her head?! (Frisbee family) she was going on about bad manners yet is it not bad manners to wear a hat at the dinner table? Hmm

OP posts:
outtolunchagain · 06/10/2014 22:57

The dinner party lady was posh but she is also South African .I wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry at the elderly couple, the breakfast part was bizarre, and as for the mother and daughter and their slim shakes , words fail meShock

Username12345 · 06/10/2014 23:27

I've taken a dislike to the frisbee woman.

The woman making all those pies Grin

GraceFox · 07/10/2014 10:53

Hat lady omg how irritating. Didn't she go on about the boys' elbows on the table yet it was ok for the dd to throw a very vocal hissy fit about exactly why the fish was so yucky? The dad looked a bit flattened, I'm not surprised.

And poor pie lady, getting up so early to enjoy a few minutes by herself. Her dh is hard work.

Vintagejazz · 07/10/2014 11:29

I liked the older couple. There was something reassuringly timeless about them - meals on the dot, stodgy but homecooked food, sandwiches for the train, and benignly insular.

The Frisbee family were the stereotypical Cath Kidston couple. I suspect though, that behind the nonsense and playing to the camera, they might be okay and the type you'd warm to after a while. Daphne could do with some wholesome neglect though.

GraceFox · 07/10/2014 12:13

Yes, a lot to be said for the occasional meal of plain bread and butter for young Daphne....

What I liked about the programme was the snatched vignettes we were given about their wider lives, seen through those dinners.

Vivacia · 07/10/2014 12:44

I couldn't get on with this and gave up. It wasn't up to the standard of The Family or Gogglebox.

Honeezreturn · 07/10/2014 13:32

It's just abit of harmless people watching which isn't for everyone, but I love it,
nosey
The family with 6 kids are amusing, the father looked abit fed up and henpecked. Loved it when one of the children was asked why they thought the play station had been taken away 'because you don't love us' Grin

OP posts:
Vintagejazz · 07/10/2014 13:45

I liked that family. They were a bit eccentric in a nice way. I think maybe the Frisbee family were aspiring to be a bit like that.

Cocolepew · 07/10/2014 19:34

Was frisbee woman in something before?

Swimming pool man thought he was Jamie Oliver.

dazzlingdeborahrose · 07/10/2014 19:55

Omg. The frisbee family. Performance parenting or what! Am I the only one who had visions of dad holding the little girls favourite toy to ransom as her mum asked "would you rather have macdonalds or mozzarella?" Grin I loved the elderly couple living on pies. No chips since his second heart attack. Wink

TwelveLeggedWalk · 07/10/2014 20:01

I LOVED this because I am a nosy bugger

About 20 years ago there was a series of people talking about interior design in their homes which was like this, and I have tried desperately to find it on YouTube, and failed. Modern Times? something like that.

I pretty much squealed when they said it was a series. Will look forward to heckling swimming pool man from my sofa.

Chandon · 08/10/2014 09:06

The woman in the hat annoyed me intensely.

the girl is made too much of and indulged

the dad seems spineless.

The mum and daughter who eta big grilled breakfasts, then slimming shakes, wtf?

I love a bit of judging!

DontCallMeBaby · 08/10/2014 17:12

Cocolepew - she was in a sort of Come Look At My House thing where people, um, looked at each other's and bitched about them a la Come Dine With Me. She's actually lovely irl, and Daphne no brattier than most 7yos of my acquaintance. Smile
