Hello, sorry to cough up here but.
I was watching 'Me Too' this aft with DS (he seems to like the Beeb's Balamory subsitute)and I noticed the Rudi character appears to have a visual disability.
Has anyone else noticed this? It seems odd that this has not been pointed out as yet. Usually they tend to make an issue out of any sort of impairment.
I think it's wonderful that they haven't and that Rudi runs a thriving local business and his disbility is not causing a problem. However it does make for implausable story lines like today, the taxi driver put on a stupid voice and said 'how did you know it was me?' when she's in her 'costume'
Mind you, it's implausable anyway, what would OFSTED say about a child and dog minding service?
OK, I should find something more constructive to do with my time.

I agree with you Mummymonster about it being great showing disabled people etc etc, but (& I mean absolutely no offence to blind people, but could someone who can't see REALLY run a market stall? There's the weighing & pricing for a start, then how would he select the produce at the wholesalers - they could give him any old cack, and then kids would just nick stuff from him all the time.
& the prices he charges are outrageous - £3.50 for 2kg of potatoes?!
Or am I taking it all too seriously...

gopd you so need to get out if you are chatting on cbbeebeis

blueamema · 28/09/2006 21:08

Do you moan this much on the CBeebies chat site? LOL I will have to have a look once its back on!

i'm hoping that the little beebies dont have access to this area of the website!!!

I dont suppose OFSTED would have any issues with Granny M's child/dog minding service, just as long as she doesnt start taking in rottweilers or such like!!!

I watched him today and I'm not convinced he's totally blind - maybe in one eye? He seems to be inconsistent, looking sighted one moment and blind the next.

noseymum · 28/09/2006 22:39

Yes, All the BBC messageboards are down at the moment. (Have been for ages today)

I post on the Cbeebies site and although I have watched it avidly, apparently it has been mentioned before that his sight is impaired. My lo loves it, but I think it's cr@p. That's why I get on with stuff while he's watching lol.

Don't bother posting on Cbeebies much because of the premodding taking so long. Parenting is much better as is not pre modded.

scampadoodle · 28/09/2006 22:43

Even so, Soupdragon, would you trust him to choose your plums?!

WigWamBam · 28/09/2006 22:53

He's registered blind - biography here and an article here .

I've noticed a couple of references to it on the programme (yes, sad git) - a couple of times someone has said "I wish you could see this", or taken his arm to guide him ... plus the white stick gives it away somewhat
