Lost - are they all suffering mental breakdowns?

I thought that they all might be in an elaborate virtual reality world in order to find themselves. The "others" are doctors and nurses who kill off the ones who have been cured .
Jack is an alcoholic...hurley has bulimia, locke has psycosematic paraplegia, kate is a paranoid schitzophrenic...etc etc.
And along the way there are some prisoners in the same hospital as part of a rehabilitaion programme, like Sawyer, mr echo and Andalucia (or Kate).
Maybe I've got it all wrong but maybe Hurley has the key to it all the answers.
Michael's boy is not supposed to be there for some reason.

ooh thast a good one

Twiglett · 23/09/2006 19:26

is anyone still watching Lost?

dinny · 23/09/2006 19:29

tartan, friend of mine thinks the Others are all doctors, helping all the "survivors" in rehab, who've been sent - a la Matrix - on virtual journey... Oooh, cannot WAIT till Tuesday! There is a big reveal!

Twiglett, it is better than ever! Seriously addictive - I could literally watch it for days at a time back-to-back, had I a nanny/nearby willing MIL.

dinny · 23/09/2006 19:30

definitely think Hurley has the key. apparently next week Sayid sails round the island and finds something AMAZING ....???

themoon66 · 23/09/2006 20:57

Oh it is sooooo addictive isn't it? I could just sit and watch it all day if I was allowed to. That hour on a Tuesday is the fastest hour of the week!

Twiglett · 24/09/2006 10:12

would it not make more sense that ONE of them is having a mental breakdown

its awfully Bobby in the shower though isn't it?

Enid · 24/09/2006 10:22

ooh love it

Enid · 24/09/2006 10:25

ah so thats why they are 'Lost'

they leave the island when they are 'found'?

YellowFeathers · 24/09/2006 10:28

Very clever.
The best theory I've heard yet. Makes sense.

What happened at the end of the last one? I only got to see half of it.

LemonTart · 24/09/2006 10:33

Ooh, like that theory a lot.
Big finale just like Holby City

Last episode saw Michael in the "others" camp being asked if he had seen his son in "unusual" places - ie hinting that he has some supernatural powers. Also explained why he had to go and get 4 people to go looking for the others as Michael was given a "list" of people to bring to the others in order to get his son back - Kate, Sawyer, Hurley and Jack. Sayid wanted to go but Michael managed to stop him with a series of handshakes and meaningful looks..
Burial happened.
Saw the preacher pushing the button on his new mission while Locke sits by the sea abandoning his.
The Lord of the Rings guy found Sawyers stash of Heroin (thanks to the dog leading him there) and chucked the Madonnas in the ocean, Locke looked impressed.
Sawyer had a heart to heart with Jack, admitting he had slept with AnnaLucia, looking a tad upset. Jack asked why are you telling me this (in typical unsensitve blokey way) Sawyer answers "cos yor the closest thing I have to a friend out here.."

willow2 · 24/09/2006 10:40

Top theory. Only other thing I can think of is that they are all in purgatory or summat.

hunkermunker · 24/09/2006 10:42

I bloody LOVE Lost. I can't wait for Tuesday!

codwiggle · 24/09/2006 13:15

codwiggle · 24/09/2006 13:16

acc to wikipedia the purgatory thign is a red herring

willow2 · 24/09/2006 15:46
