My plotline:

Gorgeous George comes back and in a daring new plot development they cast an unknown Cheshire housewife as the new series' high powered surgeon effortlessly saving lives with just a narrowing of her eyes and a flash of her scalpel. Dr Ross and Dr Kovac fight over her for the whole 18 episodes (she has steamy love scenes with both on a regular basis while she tries to make up her mind).

But she doesnt know that secretly George is in love with a young woman from Birmingham and is just using the other woman to try and get over her....

Which he does because once he's met the mature and experienced woman from Cheshire he forgets all about the young Brummie woman.
