Just caught up with this week's episode. Enjoyed it, nice family viewing with 11 year old DD. What is the vicar's game?!

Mrsjayy · 12/09/2014 08:24

I dunno evil vicar who would have thought. Think he is probably pissed off his wife didnt get the house and his bil ran it to the ground. We are really enjoying it too its nice to sit and watch something together

slalomsuki · 15/09/2014 14:38

I watched it with one of my kids and thought t was quite good family entertainment. Not sure how much poetic license there was but overall will watch again

Mrsjayy · 15/09/2014 17:24

I think its based rather than true facts altbough the place he got the beats from was a real place I read about it in another book

Mumzy · 17/09/2014 22:12

Love the penguins. Have allowed all 3 dcs to stay up late tonight to watch it. Even cynical DS1 who is 13 is enchanted Grin

Sunflower6 · 17/09/2014 22:15

My 8 year old daughter saw an advert for this tonight and asked if she could watch it if I taped it, she loves animals - would it be suitable for an 8 year old?

Cocolepew · 17/09/2014 22:19

I think it would be fine for an 8 year old, I dont know why the bbc puttit on at 9.

Mrsjayy · 17/09/2014 23:03

Yes it would be fine for an 8yr old its daft having it on at 9 I have not seen tonights yet but we have booked a travelodge to go to chester in October when dd1 is off school

ALittleFaith · 17/09/2014 23:08

I love this show! It makes me smile :)

I wonder if it's on late just because it deals with shell shock which could be upsetting to little ones? That's quite brief though.

Mrsjayy · 17/09/2014 23:14

Perhaps as he does have his moments must have been terrible for him

Raahh · 18/09/2014 10:57

I've been wondering why it is on so late- it is perfect Sunday early evening telly, really. No idea why it is on so late- far worse things are shown in things like EastendersConfused.

The penguins were fab!

fortifiedwithtea · 18/09/2014 11:05

Anyone else's DC now want a pet penguin? Grin

Raahh · 18/09/2014 11:07

Never mind the dcs- i want one! Would fit nicely in the bath Grin

Grin
Strawdolly · 18/09/2014 11:09

Me too Grin

bluejeansandbabies · 18/09/2014 11:09

I am really enjoying it, I have to keep reminding myself that it turns out they get to open their zoo. I get really cross with that sneaky vicar. DH said to me last night ' you know it is ok in the end, its still there'

Vintagejazz · 18/09/2014 11:58

I can't understand why it's on at 9pm mid week. It seems like ideal early Sunday evening television.

Mrsjayy · 18/09/2014 15:21

Yes you do see much worse at half 7 in the soaps sex drugs violence perfect family telly Hmm
