Crap births on telly

Just watched someone on telly who was supposed to be 10cm dilated and about to push ('oh - - puff puff') Are there ever any even vaguely accurate bits of births on telly drama? Could there be?

If it was In The Club, in fairness she had had an epidural.

I laughed at the emcs a couple of weeks back, had a general but was up walking about like nothing happened minutes later! Where's your catheter??? And how come your legs work?? I know it's not real but seriously.

No, it was the West Wing (catching up a decade after everybody else). Toby's wife Andy having twins. 'Ooh.' A few hairs very slightly out of place. Sitting up in bed. Having rational conversations.

The night that ds was born I watched the episode of Friends with Rachel in labour. 'Aah. Ooh'. Having rational conversations and telling jokes. Even though I was only in early labour I was laughing bitterly by the end.

I didn't mind Rachel in Friends too much as it's about the only birth I can remember on telly that lasted as bloody long as so many births do! Made a nice change from "shit, my waters - aaargh - ooh, look, the baby is here..."

Yes I guess that's true. I seem to remember Michelle on EastEnders approx 1989 looking quite realistic to me but that was well before I'd given birth myself and unlikely given that it was on in the early evening...

My favourite one was Daphne in Neighbours (I am v v old), who managed to give birth without taking her tights off!

The funniest has to be Fizz from Coronation street Grin
I remember Daphne giving birth, maybe they were crutchless tights!!

Michelle in EE had Blossom (Alan Jacksons grandmother) as her Midwife. Maybe they recycle the actors Grin
