Brought DD (12) up to Manchester on a coach trip to the coronation street tour. After the tour we took ourselves off to media city and walked to the back entrance of the new set.

Amazing timing as Chris Gascoigne was just leaving on foot.

DD thrilled. Got photos will try upload in a sec.

He was lovely had a nice chat. He leaves in a month (so not dead yet and apparently jim gets his comeuppance )

No I didn't ask him if he died. Not sure he would have told me spoliers. DD can't stop taking about it (and I'm still a bit giddy too)!

Lovely chap. There was no one else around at all and he knew we had spotted him. When he looked up he had a look of resignation in his eyes. I did say sorry you must get a bit sick of this etc and did thank him. I shook his hand as he walked away he turned back then asked for our names.

He is same height as me (5 foot 8) so a bit on the short side for me!

Granada announced last year (?) that the actor was leaving Corrie at the end of this year. Depending on how far ahead they film, it might be getting towards the end of his time on set. They said at the time that it was going to be a big, dramatic storyline but that they weren't killing him off, but I haven't seen anything recently to indicate if they've changed their mind on that.
