Casualty - Rita's husband?

I was about 20 mins into the episode with Rita's husband being brought into the hospital from prison and then my sky box failed to tape the rest of it. No longer available on i player so can someone please tell me the rest of the story? TIA

He was in prison because he's a pedophile, Rita has had no contact with him since he went in and has told all her colleagues he was dead

He deliberately got himself beaten up to get to the hospital

She saw him at the hospital and warned him off saying anything but Ash realised they obviously had a past

She had an interview for a promotion but he was refusing all treatment unless she spoke to him so they were ringing her during her interview so he didn't die

They all figured out that he was her husband and were upset that she hadn't shared the fact that she was married to a pedophile -because obviously that would be the first thing you announce to your colleagues!

Think he got wheeled off for a procedure right at the end so I presume so

Just to add, he was convicted of sex with a 14 (I think) year old pupil at the school where he was a teacher. Rita defended him at the trial, saying the girl lied. He admitted to her in hospital it was true.

They didn't say whether he survived but presume he did.
