The previous one ended where they made the announcement about the little boy Harry ( who played Leo)

So, a new one.

The Wedding (Dan and Kerry)
The desperate attempts of Pria to get married off
The bloke Who tried to kill Finn (who was he) and why is Finn in anguish ?

The female vicar Harriet who is harbouring a huge crush on Ashley
Sam and Tracy

It's limping along.

I didn't go to my GF's funeral when I was 7. Nor my GM's when I was 10. I hadn't thought about it, just assumed that was normal.

cupofsneeze · 29/08/2014 19:07

What happened at the funeral yesterday. I missed it and cant work out if Marlons had a clout from someone hoping its Ross !

snozzlemaid · 29/08/2014 19:30

Yes they had a scuffle at the funeral when Ross turned up as Marlon told him to stay away.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 29/08/2014 23:27

i went to my dad's when I was 8, my uncle's at 9, my mum's at 11. And have seen much younger kids at funerals.

SlatternLovesLots · 30/08/2014 10:00

Nugget I'm sorry you lost your parents so young.

Donna's funeral was interesting. Everyone was telling Ross he couldn't go. Cain locked him in the garage but he took an axe to the door and arrived at the funeral where Marlon, foolishly, tried to lay into him. Ross tried to not be too aggressive but Marlon wouldn't stop trying to hit him so Ross kicked off too. They had to be pulled apart. All this on the church steps.

In the end Ross didn't go to the funeral but went to sit by Donna's grave while they were all in church. Brenda was looking after April at home, April kept asking when her mummy was coming home and it was clear she didn't understand it all so Brenda took her to show her Gennie's grave to try to help her understand. April saw Ross at Donna's grave, they spoke and now April understands her mummy is not coming back. Marlon is furious and finds it incomprehensible that it was Ross who was able to get through to April and not him.

What did anyone think about the end of Friday's episode - Ross and [no spoiler]. DH just said "weird".

ZebraZeebra · 30/08/2014 10:35

I thought the ending of last night's episode was very sad and unusually emotionally complex for a soap! Ross, who self-admittedly feels like a dick for having fallen in love and only ever treated women like objects...in love with a woman who has died and desperately wants her back, desperate to feel her love again, just needed someone...anyone to be in her place just for a moment so he could pretend. It was very sad :(

NuggetofPurestGreen · 30/08/2014 10:39

Thanks Slattern. I think in ireland everyone just goes to funerals regardless of age. I didn't go to the cemetery for my dad's but was at the church. Was just wondering if that was the norm in UK.

I thought the funeral was a bit mad. Just let Ross go to it!

ZebraZeebra · 30/08/2014 10:45

I thought anyone could go to a funeral, that they were an open thing that people weren't "invited to" like a wedding. Or have I just made that up?

NuggetofPurestGreen · 30/08/2014 10:52

Don't think so Zeb, which is why Cain had to lock ross in the shed!

NuggetofPurestGreen · 30/08/2014 10:52

Don't think you've made it up I mean.

ZebraZeebra · 30/08/2014 10:57
Grin

Poor Ross. His anguish and desperation to be loved last night really made me fancy him.

ZebraZeebra · 30/08/2014 10:58

And the worst thing is no one will ever believe him they were in love. Or will he ever be able to believe Donna loved him back because she's not here anymore. Apart from Debbie, who's doing a good job of helping him but why doesn't she be more emphatic about Donna doing all those things because SHE DID love him.

Much too invested in this.

SlatternLovesLots · 30/08/2014 13:27

I got that Ross needed to be with someone, I also got that [no spoiler] would go there I mean, who wouldn't?. I even managed the 'say you love me' bit, but that she went along with it, even for a second, was strange.

Unless she really luffs him.......

Zebra, no such thing as too invested Smile.

SlatternLovesLots · 30/08/2014 13:29

Oh and I too despair that Ross thinks Donna just used him.

Lesleythegiraffe · 30/08/2014 14:18

I can't stand Marlon - drippy and laughable when in sad storylines and manic silly over-acting otherwise.

Hated Ross when he first appeared as Laurel's carjacker but am warming to him as it seems are most people on here!

ZebraZeebra · 30/08/2014 14:48

slattern I think [no spoiler here] might just luffs him too Grin

SlatternLovesLots · 30/08/2014 14:53

Grin, you can hardly blame her!

ZebraZeebra · 30/08/2014 15:13

Absolutely not!

Do we still need to be careful about spoilers? It's been nearly 24 hours. I feel a bit silly talking about she who will not be named.

SlatternLovesLots · 30/08/2014 16:23

She who previously couldn't be named is......

D

Iloveweetos · 30/08/2014 16:40

Why is laurel just not going? Marlon is actually being such a dick! I just wanna say to laurel 'fuck the wedding off!'

ZebraZeebra · 30/08/2014 16:42

Can anyone see a potential reunion of Laurel and Ashley? Just a minor suspicion based on one tiny scene, mind...

But then poor April is stuck with just Marlon.

SlatternLovesLots · 30/08/2014 17:33

Mmmm, I sense the timing of Ashley and Carol finishing, means he is free to 'comfort' Laurel. I can't help but wonder how a couple who are supposed to be in love can be so blind to how the other one is feeling, looking at you Marlin and Laurel. I thought the same when Paddy was completely oblivious to Rhona's drug addiction.

Yes, I do know it is soap land. Smile

Oh and to continue the great not really reveal of who is crushing on thread fav Ross

E

Ellenora5 · 30/08/2014 17:55

I'm going to punch Marlons lights out Angry

ZebraZeebra · 30/08/2014 18:52

Loving your great reveal Slattern Grin Though we're missing an opportunity to play a really lame game of Hangman.

SlatternLovesLots · 30/08/2014 22:03

Why thank you zebra. Unfortunately I think everyone already knows thus ratcheting up my lameness factor.

But I like my game, so I shall carry on regardless, like oh so many soap storey lines Smile.
