True Blood - not loving it. Should I stick with it?

DP and I have started Season 1 and are only 3 episodes in but I'm not hugely impressed. I have a friend who absolutely raves about it so wanted to see what all the fuss was about.

It's quite funny and I like how the female characters are allowed to be sexual and to want sex on their own terms. However, I find it really slow moving and find Anna Paquin terribly wooden. Her character's virginity has started to be very fetishised and I don't find the 'will they won't they' with Bill terribly interesting. I don't look forward to the next episode the way I have done with other shows.

Does it take a while to get into it, or is it a bit of Marmite TV?

Well, if it hasn't grabbed you by the third episode I guess maybe it's just not going to be your thing. Although I see Eric Northman's first appearance is in episode 4
