I saw it when it first came out together with my a level history group. Cant remember the ins and outs but we werent impressed. The cross dressing frenchman - there were two brothers, but the film got the wrong one.

Not historically accurate at all, esp timelines - but an entertaining film to watch.

There were many Catholic plots to kill Elizabeth, and a poisoned dress was one of them.
