Some of you lot have got impressive life-avoiding skills to keep focus on Wimbledon. Must train my children.

Hoping to catch some later though. Tennis not children, that is.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 27/06/2014 07:33

Today's weather: sunshine and showers from lunchtime. Some heavy possibly thundery. Starting to perhaps clear up later in the evening.

Mama1980 · 27/06/2014 08:25

Morning all, how is everyone? Smile Hope the first matches avoid the rain today, the dimitrov/dogs match should be good, and will be interesting to see how djokovic plays.

DuPainDuVinDuFromage · 27/06/2014 08:49

Morning! Looking forward to another day of good matches and yes, hopefully the rain will hold off. Although OYBBK's forecasts are generally accurate...

hugoagogo · 27/06/2014 09:18

Hi peeps, I will be busier today sadly, I have a hair appointment this afternoon-what was I thinking? Hmm

I must do some cleaning too as we are hosting a preteen sleepover on sat-again what was I thinking?

magimedi · 27/06/2014 09:27

Afternoon all. Tipping it down here. I think Cilic will be going out today :(

Mama1980 · 27/06/2014 13:52

Afternoon Juan Smile where are you? I've got sun here. Simon has really come out determined to make a fight of it.

MrsVamos · 27/06/2014 13:58

Makings of a good match, Mama ?

Very cloudy here, thundery downpours expected later...hopefully they hit us and not Wimby. They look like they have got the best of the weather.

Halep just won her match.

Raahh · 27/06/2014 14:00

afternoon.

Have had no internet connection. Stupid VirginHmm.

Glad to see Halep win through. Simon is not going to let Djok have it all his way.

Ds is at an inducion/transition day at his new secndary school. He was very excited. I went to dd1's assembly- it was OUTSIDE and freeeeeeezing!
Tennis

MrsVamos · 27/06/2014 14:05

Hi Raahh

Oh my goodness ! Outside ?! Sod that, lol.

John Lloyd must be president of the Nole fan club, is he ?

Couple if barbed comments. Sunlight affecting him on a bad shot, funny how if its Rafa he's not playing well. Hmm

What did you make of Roger's comment last night, 10 seconds between serving and point won ? I'd like to see HIM stick to that a little later in the tournament, if he progresses. Angry

It was very snide, wasn't it? I was quite surprised, didn't think it was the kind of thing he would say.Kind of amusing though...a bit of sniping between players is more fun than everyone being totally professional!

JuanPotatoTwo · 27/06/2014 14:11

Seems like a good time to post this :)

DuPainDuVinDuFromage · 27/06/2014 14:12

Hello everyone by the way! I'm dipping in and out this afternoon, won't actually see any tennis until this evening.

JuanPotatoTwo · 27/06/2014 14:16

Oh sorry mama, just seen your question - south east so not all that far from Wimbledon.

MrsVamos · 27/06/2014 14:17

It was a bit of a silly comment, I thought. I know the pundits all assume it was aimed at Rafa, I don't, I think it was just daft.

When you have played a tough point or long rally, common sense should prevail.

Consensus seems to be that there should be 25 secs allowed, rather than 20.

I think it is a point that will run and run, as it doesn't seem like the rule will change any time soon.

Lovely snap, Juan. Smile

What did Roger say? I gave up on that match as it was a bit dull.

JuanPotatoTwo · 27/06/2014 14:21

What about Mac saying we should do away with umpires? Can't see that working myself. There are some things hawkeye can't do.

BillnTedsMostFeministAdventure · 27/06/2014 14:22

I didn't think it was snide, and I'm not a massive roger fan - he was asked if he was especially trying to get on with the match and he answered, but I think he genuinely meant it when he said that others handled the space between points differently.

DuPainDuVinDuFromage · 27/06/2014 14:25

I agree MrsV, I think Federer's point was wrong - although he did say that he didn't need more than 10 seconds and he appreciated that others do. It seemed like too much of a coincidence that he would say that right after the Rafa match, when Rosol complained to the umpire about the time delays - I'm sure Federer must have been aware of that.

I think Mac's umpire idea is just plain silly - I can see what he's getting at but clearly it just wouldn't work in professional tennis.

Raahh · 27/06/2014 14:27

Well. Simon seemed to be doing ok, then i had to go and hunt down washing, and now Djok is running away with it.Hmm

I'm sick of hearing Sue say 'And we'll be back in just a moment...'

I'd rather have adverts.

Raahh · 27/06/2014 14:28

I think Mac is having a few senior moments. He rarely makes sense these daysGrin

Raahh · 27/06/2014 14:35

mmmm- Rupert Penry Jones. Although he wasn't looking his best there.
