Police under pressure

Anyone see this last night? I felt so sorry for the police officers. It really seemed like their hands were tied. Shame they can't spend some of the millions tied up in free schools on community policing.

I had a similar thought Cherrypi, they should make Gove Home Secretary.

Very frustrating situation which could be solved with just a few more policing powers. But is that the way we want to go?

Yeah they probably needed a youth club to hang out in really or some other activity to occupy them. Then again it was probably quite late at night as it was dark in the summer.

I think that the children who hang out like this are not the kind to attend youth clubs.

Also, some of the problems were down to racial tensions and different cultural norms, rather than aggravating youths.

It wasn't nice hearing members of the public dictating and making threats to police officers. But similarly I didn't like the way some of the police were talking to the youths. I think they needed to behave with more authority and with less familiarity and contempt.

But what do I know?
