Just to say :

Rafa on CC 1st tomorrow, 1pm.

I'm gone !

JuanPotatoTwo · 25/06/2014 21:08

Murray v Bust-a-Gut is a difficult one to call - I don't want either of them to win :) However, Grigor v Dogsbollocks is sad - I want both to come through.

I'm going to look up some whistling vids on YouTube, that should while away the evening nicely. :)

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 25/06/2014 21:28

'Interesting' thread about Judy Murray going on in AIBU. Not many people agreeing with the OP.

DuPainDuVinDuFromage · 25/06/2014 21:28

Well that was a nice way to spend the evening! Tsonga and Querrey just stopped for the night at 9-9 in the fifth set...poor Jo-Willy will have played on all four days of the tournament so far!

See you all tomorrow! Tennis

DuPainDuVinDuFromage · 25/06/2014 21:36

Gosh yes, the OP's really digging herself deeper into her hole of misogyny and ageism, isn't she?!

Right, definitely signing off now - à demain!

IreneR · 25/06/2014 21:44

What on earth is happening?!

I go outside to drink a little wine, certain that Stepanek is going down for the third time, and return to more amazing tennis... I'll remember that one for a long time. And I don't dislike Djokovic nearly as much as I used to. Which is odd. (Although I am slightly disturbed by the fact that Nosferatu is in his entourage.)

Then, I am able to witness an American man play tennis in a televised match.

Now you're all talking about Alice the Camel, and Doctors, and Karen ... and I have No Idea what you are on about.

It's like some parallel universe.

I think I'll go and have a nice cup of tea.

You forgot the Muskahounds Irene Grin

JuanPotatoTwo · 25/06/2014 21:59

Strange remarks that op keeps making.

JuanPotatoTwo · 25/06/2014 22:00

That's what happens when you partake of wine Irene!

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 25/06/2014 22:03

Digging herself a bigger hole with each post, Juan. PMSL at Judy cashing in on Andy's career. Like she had nothing to do with it.

magimedi · 25/06/2014 22:43

Have looked at that thread & dare not post. I think I would be banned if Isaid what I wanted to!!

Great day, amazing matches.

Mrs V - I take back what I said about Djok playing well - he just scraped that one.

Have to say I was cheering Kunetsov al lthe way!

Here's tomorrow's order of play

Looking forward to the Hewitt/Jancowic (sp?) match as well as Rafa/Rosol

ElephantsNeverForgive · 26/06/2014 00:28

Just glad to see the back of Ferrer. I was happily dozing when he came on. He woke me up peaking stupid noises every time he served.

We have lost Asarenka's (sp) squarks too.

DH fancies Sharapova (and I like her when she's interviewed), so I can't wish her squeaks a rapid exit.

IreneR · 26/06/2014 07:26

Good morning, all --

Settling in here in Swestern France for a lovely day of ... tennis on telly! No sightseeing, hiking, or market-going for me, thank you very much, just knocking around the gite waiting for the coverage to begin.

(I only wish I could MN and watch at the same time, but the spot where I can pick up the internet is not near the TV. I'll have to watch and post and watch and post -- whoa. That sounds almost like exercise.)

Mama1980 · 26/06/2014 07:45

Morning all, I'm actually home today so hoping for a great day of tennis watching, babies dependent Smile
Vamos!!

BBMs · 26/06/2014 08:43

Morning ladies!
Just a little present to start the day :)

OhYouBadBadKitten · 26/06/2014 09:47

Morning, sorry a bit late.

Forecast for today is good. Tomorrow heavy showers could be problematic and some of them may well be thundery. Showery saturday but hopefully back on track on Sunday.

MrsVamos · 26/06/2014 11:35

BBMs

Oh my. Blush

Don't really need to say it, do I ? You all know me too well...

VAMOS RAFA !

I feel quite excited now. Nervy, but excited.

DuPainDuVinDuFromage · 26/06/2014 11:37

Yes, thanks for that BBMs!

MrsVamos · 26/06/2014 11:40

magi

Don't take much notice of what I say ! I'm just a mad fan !

Don't know what it is though, there's just something not right about Novak. He didn't look happy yesterday, iykwim ? Some if the strength/ power seems to have gone.

Time will tell.

I do hope the crowd will be kind to Rafa today, and not just hoping Rosol will win.

Hopefully no need for roof today, so they can just play.

Seems to be that Rafa is expected to exact his 'revenge'. I think Rafa fans want it more !

MrsVamos · 26/06/2014 11:42

Morning, lovely DuPainDuVinDuFromage Grin

DuPainDuVinDuFromage · 26/06/2014 11:50

Hi mrs! All ready to cheer him on? I reckon he's going to thrash Rosol Smile

Mama1980 · 26/06/2014 11:54

I think rafa in straight sets today- I'm joining the believers! Smile

magimedi · 26/06/2014 11:56

MrsV - am also a mad fan & I just love talking tennis & wondering about the players with other mad fans!

I wonder if Novak is more concerned about arrival of baby & wedding than his tennis?

I know exactly what you mean about him looking 'wrong' yesterday - I was so expecting him to win in 3.

MrsVamos · 26/06/2014 12:15

I will be screaming Rafa on today !

So pleased the consensus seems to be Rosol is going to get thrashed.

I reckon Rafa will win in 4 sets.

That's what I said at RG, magi. He didn't look as 'ominous' there, either.

To be honest, I do think he is a brilliant tennis player, one of the best of a generation. But I don't think he is 'up there' with Roger and Rafa, and never will be. I think he is a bit more Andys level, great, but not one of the greatest.

I think he is perhaps tailing off now, lots of little injuries starting to take their toll, as well as all the personal changes. I dunno. I do know the wedding has been cancelled twice so he could concentrate on Slams, but he's still not winning.

Maybe in a couple of years I'll be eating my words, but sometimes I wonder if his career will end before Rafas ?

I feel so lucky that we have had so many fantastic players to watch over the years. It really is a priveledge to see such great sportsmen (and women). I think the current generations are going to be hard acts to follow.

I also think Rafa is the GOAT. But that's a discussion for another day !
