How dull is Ted in HIMYM?

I'v started watching this on e4 and just cannot warm to Ted at all! Is this intentional that he is so dull and needy? He is like Ross from friends but with even less personality!

Yep. He is prince of bores.

Agree with Ross comparison. You start off thinking he's okay then soon loathe him and his whiny ways.

I think I've started about three ranty threads on MN detailing why I hate Ted so much. He claims to be such a soppy romantic but he treats woman like shit.
