Anyone else think this season is even funnier? I am loving it.

Do we know for sure that they are? Or did they just leave the end open to possibilities? I suspect at the time of writing it they didn't know whether or not they'd get another series (they may still not know now).

If they do:

I think Merc might get his job back, but not simply and quickly –they'll spin a lot of material out of it.

They couldn't just have them do the new series because they needed to get three episodes (was it three?) out of him wanting to, her not wanting to, him having the illicit lunch etc.

They do tend to stretch quite a small amount of material quite thin.

Imdb has a S4 for 2015.

Oh good! Despite saying some uncomplimentary things about it , I'm pleased to hear that.

My guess would be that Carol will get Merc's old job but that Merc will manage to get her to buy a series from him or something.

Really not sure I will bother with the next series - I thought I would watch Tamsin Grieg in anything but haven't actually watched the last series of Friday Night Dinner as after five minutes of 'the girlfriend' I couldn't stand it any more.

I really liked this show too, but was pretty horrified at the TV depiction of serious mental illness. Really offensive to show a character going "crazy" due to meds not being right etc. Poor taste and lazy gimmick.
