Break for Nadal.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 04/06/2014 18:56

Vamos Rafa

Make or break time for Monfils. He can't just throw this set as well.

I've just tried to google the Spanish for lime Confused

Mama1980 · 04/06/2014 18:58

Grin Clay

MacenroeTheBoatAshore · 04/06/2014 19:01

Lime in Spanish is Lima!

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 04/06/2014 19:02

If nothing else I've learnt they don't really have lemons in Mexico so they use limon for lime. And that 'lima' which might be used in Europe for lime is a whole separate fruit in S. America which is neither a lemon nor a lime. Grin

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 04/06/2014 19:03

Crossed posts Mac. Not in South America apparently. Grin

:( I am half French ladies and I am ashamed of this crowd and of the conceded point.... Somebody ought to go over there and tell them - when we play tennis here, we may want the British guy to win but we are never so rude to the opponent...

MacenroeTheBoatAshore · 04/06/2014 19:10

who was the last French woman to win? Im thinking Mary pierce but there MUST have been more recent?

Murray knows the crowd will be partisan.

threebats · 04/06/2014 19:11

I know but really - boo to them..... Its ungainly....

Raahh · 04/06/2014 19:11

Did mauresmo win it?

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 04/06/2014 19:13

I think he's used to playing in crowd that are against him even in the UK sometimes. But it isn't really on especially after he actually gave Monfils a point.

Raahh · 04/06/2014 19:14

I have just checked- it was Mary. the one with the dadWink

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 04/06/2014 19:14

I thought Mauresmo had won it Raahh, but I could be wrong.

Raahh · 04/06/2014 19:15

None of that malarkey with Rafa and David, all very sporting with line calls between themGrin

Tennis
MacenroeTheBoatAshore · 04/06/2014 19:15

Yes, Mauresmo did, I believe.

So why the furure about a French champ? its not like the 70 mumble wait we had for a mens singles and a 30mumble for a ladies!

I know home country want their country person to win, and france are very lucky they have so many in the pot, there was a discussion the other day wasn't there about whats more important, a GS winner or a successful Davis cup team?

MacenroeTheBoatAshore · 04/06/2014 19:17

and not forgetting Marion Bartoli Wimbledon winner last year.

Raahh · 04/06/2014 19:17

No, Mauresmo didn't.

MacenroeTheBoatAshore · 04/06/2014 19:18

Didn't Mauresmo win a grand slam then? I used to be quite the tennis fact expert till old age crept in!

Raahh · 04/06/2014 19:19

I want this set to finish, Nadal, so I can put dd2 to bed.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 04/06/2014 19:19

Doesn't look like she ever made it past the QF. Only won 2 slams in her career US and Wimbleon both in 2006.

Raahh · 04/06/2014 19:20

Sorry, thought we meant the French- Mauresmo definitely won at Wimbledon.

MacenroeTheBoatAshore · 04/06/2014 19:25

No, I ththought shed won the French, I didn't have access to a tv or media in the 2000's (personal painful reasons) so im a bit dim in the results and things then.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 04/06/2014 19:27

It's not you we were talking about the French. She doesn't seem to have done well in the French at all. Just thought it was interesting that she'd only won the two slams in her career. It always felt like she'd won more.

Raahh · 04/06/2014 19:34

Ferrer is losing focus a bit, but he's such a fighter.

Raahh · 04/06/2014 19:35

He is making some strange noises though.

Not sure what the light situation is like for it to go to another set though- hard to tell on the tv.
